TinyUmbrella, popular SHSH saving tool has now been updated to support iOS 6.1.2. Thanks to Apple making some hard changes to their firmware, it is not possible to downgrade your iOS 6.x firmware using these blobs, however, it’s good to get into the habit of saving your blobs anyway.
The developer of TinyUmbrella, Semaphore tells us to upgrade to iOS 6.1.2 while we can still jailbreak our devices. 6.1.3 beta is with developers now and it’s already been confirmed that this is the update that will close down the evasi0n jailbreak. David Wang, aka planetbeing, confirms that this version will close at least one of the exploits used and, if one, is closed, the jailbreak will not work. If you update to 6.1.3 when it is released you will lose your jailbreak and you will not be able to jailbreak your device until a new tool is released – and judging by how long the last one took, that could be some time.
Cydia automatically saves SHSH blobs when a device is jailbroken but it’s a good idea to save them locally as well. TinyUmbrella supports both Mac and Windows – clicking on these links will take you to the updated software.
