Samsung are continuing to keep their names in the news, this time by announcing the release of yet another smartphone from the Galaxy family. This time, it’s the Galaxy Grand and it is said to be a more affordable version of the SIII, which was the most popular Android smartphone of 2012. Very similar in looks to the SIII, the Grand will be made available in 2 models; the GT-I9082 with dual sim capabilities will be first followed by the GT-I9080 which will be the single sim model.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand will have the following features :
- 5″ WVGA TFT Touch Screen
- Display of 480 x 800 @187ppi
- 2 megapixel HD front facing camera
- 8 megapixel rear facing camera with flash, zero shutter lag and ultra fast startup
- Full HD video recording
- 1.2GHz dual core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB storage
- Micro SD Slot to expand up to 64GB
- Bluetooth 4.0
- A-GPS Glonass
- Android Jellybean 4.1.2
The Galaxy Grand will come preloaded with features such as the latest version of Samsung Hubs, to allow the user direct access to the most popular games, movies and music; Direct Call which allows a phone call to be made simply by raising the phone to the ear; S-Voice which allows for voice control of the handset and Multi Windows which allows the user to have several different apps running at the same time without having to switch screens.
At the moment a release date has not been announced and no details on pricing are available either, although it doesn’t look as if it is going be too expensive.
