iPhone 5 will have Redesigned Headphones

New iPhone , New Earphones ? The confirmed upgrades in the soon to be announced iPhone five are plentiful. A bigger screen, an A6 chip and redesigned back all of which are now common knowledge among iPhone fans. However a video circulating on the Internet, first posted on the Vietnamese site tinhte.vn, claims that Apple have completely reformed the look of their earphones.

The old style was a bog standard shape, uncomfortable for some people to wear and awful at keeping your music quiet. I’m unable to comment on if these new earphones keep you music choice personal but what can definitely be said is that if these photos are legitimate then the new design looks comfortable, snug and a lot less bulky.

A quote from the original video reads :

In my hands are the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out in Apple’s next generation of iPod . These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse head, not like ear buds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit there’s no part that looks like it would come apart not like ear buds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products. Here I have the old earphones for comparison. The new ones are much smaller; when they are worn, they do not hurt the way ear buds do.

The new sleek design certainly does sound like something Apple would go for as they are constantly trying to make their products as small, portable and, quite frankly, as stylish as possible.

And if this video is real, and these are a sneak peek of the earphones we can expect, then Apple managed to keep this little nugget of information very quiet for quite a while. The overall look, as well as the little bit of writing on the actual product that says, Designed by Apple in California, Assembled in Vietnam seems quite persuasive and coupled with the facts that Apple have used Vietnamese factories in the past and tinhte.vn managed to acquire a legitimate iPhone 4 prototype before anyone else are all things strongly in their favor.

What do you think? Are these the actual earphones we can expect of a clever hoax ?
