iOS 10.0.1 Jailbreak

Back in June, Apple unveiled iOS 10 download [ext link] for all to see, followed by a long summer of beta releases. Now that firmware has finally been publicly released and almost immediately followed by iOS 10.0.1 to fix a few bugs and other issues that reared their heads. It is only natural that we now ask the question, when will iOS 10 jailbreak [ext link] be possible ? While we can’t give you an actual date for the release of a jailbreak, we can tell you that both iOS 10 and iOS 10.0.1 have been jailbroken and the proof has been seen.

Luca Todesco is an Italian hacker and developer well known to all but the newest iOS users. He is known for teasing jailbreaks long before anyone else and iOS 10 is no exception to his rule. Within a matter of days after the public release of iOS 10, he produced a video that showed an iPad running Cydia iOS 10 [ext link] and that has been followed by proof that the brand new iPhone 7 on iOS 10 can also be jailbroken. Todesco uploaded a photo [image below] to his Twitter account showing the black version of the iPhone 7 running Cydia v 1.1.26 and for those that want to see it, it can be found under his handle of @qwertyoruiopz .

We all know that photos can be faked and there will be those that refuse to believe the evidence without an actual video showing the process. For those that know Luca Todesco, know his considerable experience and history, not to mention his skills in hacking and developing for the iOS firmware, this will be proof enough that he has managed to jailbreak iOS 10 and iOS 10.0.1.  That said, he won’t be releasing any form of jailbreak utility to the public; he never does, purely because he finds vulnerabilities in iOS and then exploits them as part of his work as a researcher for mobile security, not to provide us with a jailbreak.

iOS 10.0.1 Jailbreak Release Date :

When all is said and done, though, it does prove that Apple has not managed to stop jailbreaking even though they claimed that iOS 10 would make it too hard and that means we have hope of a public utility from Taig or Pangu sometime in the near future. We can’t say when because building a safe jailbreak that works for everyone is not a five-minute job and patience is something we will all need to have for a bit longer.
