iCloud Beta now Live

Apple has launched iCloud.com Beta . iCloud is Apple’s latest cloud based service offering for all iOS device owners , free of charge . With iCloud you can store and sync data for free up to 5 GB among all your iCloud registered devices (iphone ipod touch ipad). MobileMe service is now closed and transformed into iCloud where you will get all the feature of MobileMe use to Find and locate your lost iPhone .

How is this useful :

With iCloud you don’t require iTunes to sync data . You can store your contacts , emails , music and everything that is on your device on iCloud . The sync can be done over WiFi through iCloud . You can also access these copies of uploaded data from your computer on iCloud.com. Login with your Apple ID and password . For details about the UI , see the youtuve video below .

Currently iCloud is available in beta phase for developers only. You can visit icloud.com on your computer or mobile safari browser .

Upgrade Options for iCloud (in addition to 5GB free space):

  • 10 GB – $20/year (15 GB total)
  • 20 GB – $40/year (25 GB total)
  • 50 GB – $100/year (55 GB total)

*1 GB Gigabyte = 1024 MB
