Grand Theft Auto : Vice City is celebrating its 10th anniversary. That’s right, its 10 years since the game first became available on the PS2 platform and now it s being played on mobile devices the world over. The first ever GTA game was released in 1997 for the PS1 and was a groundbreaking game in terms of its story line and humor. Grand Theft Auto has grown in leaps and bounds and is now one of the most successful on any platform.
December 6th sees the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th anniversary Edition for iOS. It will be available in Retina Display friendly HD in the App store for just $4.99 and it will be compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Game makers Rockstar say that the new game will have “native high-resolution graphics and enhancements that are unique to the iOS platform”. These include better characters and lighting effects, more updated weaponry options, a brand new control layout that can be changed to suit the player’s requirements and full support for Retina display devices.
Rockstar are also planning to stock their warehouse with a whole line of 10th Anniversary collectible game merchandise. This release comes exactly 1 year after Rockstar’s last iOS offering, Grand Theft Auto III arrived in the App store. And if this one is half as good as the last one was then you’re in for a treat.
