Evasion Jailbreak

Evasi0n 7, the untethered jailbreak for iOS 7, was released in time for Christmas 2013. Although it didn’t get off to the best of starts, a number of updates to the utility have solved the problems and a high percentage of iOS users have now downloaded it.

March 10th saw the arrival of iOS 7.1, with iOS 7.1.1 arriving a month later. As expected, 7.1 shut down the jailbreak for anyone who upgraded. At the moment, there is no public jailbreak for iOS 7.1 or 7.1.1. The most common reason for jailbreaking is to gain the ability to customize and modify our iOS devices. This is done by way of tweaks, mods and themes that are housed in Cydia. The only way to get a full working version of Cydia on your device is to jailbreak it. If, for some reason, you just want the icon, this is easily achieved . The Current Status of the iPhone 4 Jailbreak As you should already know, iOS 7.1 and 7.1.1 cannot be jailbroken at this stage. Pod2g has begun to take a look at the possibility of building a utility for these firmwares but says much depends on how long it will take. If he can produce one within the next few weeks, it will probably be worth it but if it is going to take a few months, it will be better to wait until iOS 8 is released.

How to Get Cydia by Jailbreaking iPhone 4

If you prefer to go the whole hog and have the full version of Cydia, here’s how to get it:

  1. Download Evasi0n – make sure you download the version that corresponds with your computer operating system  evasi0n 7 1.0.7 windows
  2. Back up your iPhone through iTunes and iCloud backup itunes ios 7 iphone 5s
  3. Keep your iPhone connected to your computer and shut down iTunes connecting to pc itunes (2)
  4. Remove the passcode lock from your iPhone – you can enable it again later siri passcode
  5. Open Evasi0n 7 on your computer. If you use Windows you may need to right-click the Evasion icon and choose Run as Administrator evasion 7 run as administrator
  6. Wait for Evasi0n 7 to detect your iPhone and then click the Jailbreak button evasi0n 7 evasion jailbreak detected
  7. Wait while Evasi0n 7 begins the process of jailbreaking evasion_ios_7_iphone_4s_iphone_4
  8. When asked, tap on the Evasi0n icon on your iPhone home screen
  9. Let Evasi0n complete the jailbreak process
  10. Your iPhone will reboot and the Cydia icon will be on one of your home screen

Update 1 :

iOS 8 is expected to be unveiled at WWDC 2014, which starts on June 2nd in San Francisco. Public release is expected in September, at which point work on the jailbreak can begin. Should things change in the meantime, we will let you know.

iOS 8 was released in September 2014 but there was to be no jailbreak from Evad3rs. Instead, the first jailbreak came from Pangu, followed in swift order by Taig and PP, between them jailbreaking iOS 8-8.1.2.
