Hi, I’m sorry if this isn’t the place to ask about this but I did not want to join the site and go into the forums because I was already so confused with the opinion on the site :(

I’m trying to figure out if jailbreaking is a good idea or not, I am actually getting my 4 today, i used to have a 2G when it came out and i jailbroke and unlocked it, as the 4 has been out for a while I wanted to know if the information about issues with jailbreaking are still in effect or are they outdated, mainly what scared me is that facetime and MMS don’t work after jailbreak? (this confuses me because in order to use my3g you must jailbreak your iphone) and also the fact that people have reported more reception issues after jailbreak.

To be perfectly straight forward I want the 4 because I like to be on the internet on the go, i would like to be able to use facetime, i have free pic/vid messaging so I just want to know that if i jailbreak my iphone will I be able to do all of the things I want to or is there a chance of me having issues in which case I would just wait until there were no issues or less issues with jailbreaking. :|

Thank you for your time and I look forward to your kind and wise advice.

Well dont be in a hurry now . iOS 4.0.2 was just released. JailbreakMe launch was the first release so it was bound to be unstabe and with issues. Wait for the next iOS 4.0.3 release next month , only after which we can expect something less problematic.

But if you go through replies you’ll see that most of the problems were resolved , and there is no problem with accessing My3G now …

I wish I could get the jailbreak to work for me, but I’ve tried two dozen times and tried every suggestion I’ve seen including resetting my phone, killing all the caches, turning off pop-up blocker, accepting all cookies, restarting the phone, opening and closing safari, resetting my wifi DNS setting and I still get stuck on the ‘purple screen’ every time I try it. I’m about it give up, but I really want my jailbreak back after switching to the iPhone 4.
