After “800 hours of painstaking moulding, measuring, painting and sculpting” Steve Jobs’ scarily lifelike wax model was viewable in Madam Tussauds in Hong Kong. People from all over the world have come to pay homage to the man who glued iPhone’s to our ears, put iPads in out hands and iPods in almost every bag in the world.
The model, which you would be forgiven for thinking was real, was released to mark the first anniversary of the visionary’s death (5th Oct 2011 , aged 56). It came out only a few days after the release of the iPhone 5 and in the video it shows the phone being removed for the model’s pocket and one can’t help but think that were the Apple creator here he would be proud of the new iPhone.
Features and Details :
Steve Jobs’ likeness has been captured wearing a black turtleneck jumper, a pair or Levis and New Balance trainers. His Lunor glasses, that were custom made for him during his life, have been recreated, his arms are crossed and he looks serious, but not fierce, as though he is surveying a new idea for a product.
Cost to Build :
The figure cost $193,000 to make and will stay in Hong Kong until November 26th of this year before being moved to Bangkok and then on to Shanghai. There are no plans as of yet to bring the figure to Europe or America.
