How to Use Sn0wbreeze iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak :

Steps to Jailbreak iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 using Sn0wbreeze 2.9 :
- Download iOS 5.0.1 ipsw for your iPhone 4
- Download Sn0wbreeze 2.9 [Link below]
- Launch Snowbreeze and select your ipsw file and proceed by clicking on the blue button at right
- Select a jailbreak mode as your requirement . Ultrasn0w and Gevey Sim users choose Baseband Preservation mode to retain their original baseband .
- Now select Build IPSW and click on the blue button at the bottom
- Sn0wbreeze 2.9 will now create the custom iOS 5.0.1 ipsw file for untethered jailbreak.
- After the custom file is created ans saved on your desktop put your device in DFU mode by following onscreen instructions
- Use iTunes and press SHIFT + RESTORE button . This will let you choose the newly created iOS 5.0.1 ipsw . Allow iTunes to restore .

No idea where the original SIM card is… I’ll be able to hacktivate with this?
Nope, No Hactivations, or instalious apps.. Piracy is kept to a minimum with ios5 Jb. And that isnt a bad idea.
Yes you can hactivate with snowbreeze by choosing expert mode .There is a option in expert mode named hactivate you have to tick it. I also has lost my orignal sim and used snowbreeze to hacktivate and jailbreak my IPhone 4. Hope it helps you.

Never had problems with Blackrain, Limerain or Snowbreze.
Zea what version of absinthe you are using mac or windows because if you are using windows version then there is another tool available CLI and it works flawlessly . Maybe you should give it a try. It’s command line tool available on iPhone dev blog with instructions . I used it on 3 iPhone 4s and two ipad2 and it’s the best.

Yes it works for IOS 5.0.1 4.11.08 because its a jailbreak not the unlock.

This is a jailbreak and it works on all basebands. IT IS NOT A UNLOCK FOR ANY BASEBAND INCLUDING 4.11.08. And there is nobody working on the 4.11.08 unlock so stop asking for it. Instead of that you can check at GEVEY.us if there is any solution coming or not.

jailbroken using Sn0breeze currently using GEVEY Sim on T mobile I have heared that I need a original sim some one said check hacktivate in expert mode but could not locate ?
also dont i need tp preserve baseband ?

Hi Scott look in the step 4 u can see expert mode. select it and click next the next screen that comes have options => 1.enable battery persentage 2. Option to choose root partition size 3. on the upper left side is the option named hactivate tick it. & don’t worry all options baseband preservation mode, simple mode, expert mode do preserve your baseband and you can use GEVEY sim with this CFW. If u still can’t find it then give me ur email Id & I will send u the pics of snowbreeze’s expert mode showing all.
One more thing when u select expert mode the next screen shows u 5 options tick on general then follow the steps I mentioned after that tick on build ipsw & don’t worry about baseband snow breeze never updates your baseband & it never will. Hope it helps you.

I had to get a AT&T sim and a new Tmobile sim to get the Gevey sim working again!
It was a BIG pain in the A–

did a jailbreak for my iphone 4 but cant launch cydia, icon just blinks and nothing happens it is just doesnt load. whats the possible matter anyone?
Am stuck with Error 1600 after using Sn0wBreeze 2.9 in Simple mode to build IPSW. Have installed and run iREB and still same results Error 1600… Any suggestions? Worst case, I am assuming I can just restore my phone to factory condition, correct? TIA

Yes Scott you have to update the iTunes first. One more thing double check that you have disabled the option “SET HOST TO CYDIA WHEN EXIT” in tiny umbrella.
Ok attempted 4 times with the same results will restore to iso 4.3.2 then a error 3194 this after upgrading itunes 5.0.1 so now I still have an Iphone but can not upgrade past 4.3.2 or connect to PC havent tryed the Mac but tried tinyumbrella SHSH blobs can not recover unavailable base band is still 4.10.01??

Make ipsw with snow breeze . Use latest ireb from ih8sn0w.com to put your idevice in pwned dfu mode. Then restore it via iTunes . And don’t run tiny umbrella it changes your host file if “SET HOST TO CYDIA IS SELECTED” . Tiny umbrella is for downgrading if you have saved your SHSH for that specific firmware. And last update your iTunes to latest and use 5.0.1 ipsw not the 5.0 unless you have saved SHSH for 5.0. Because apple doesn’t sign 5.0 anymore so the window for 5.0 is closed.

You sure that 5.0.1 is I keep getting ugrade notice’s from Itunes for 5.0.3 I tryied to rerun Tinyumbrella with the cydia un checked but It didnt look like it changed I read a couple of blogs where they have manual methods to reset I assume I will have to do somthing there ?

I have an iPhone 4, Jailbroken and unlocked currently running iOS 4.0.2 with Baseband 1.59.00 and would like to upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 preserving my current baseband to be able to Jailbreak and unlock. I have been reading and noticed that a lot of people in the JB community have been having issues (error messages 1600,16… 3100, 31…, etc)or other issues. I am planning on using Sn0wbreeze 2.9 for the unthedered JB version, any suggestions to avoid complications?
Also, I’ve come accross 2 different ways to preserve BB using Sn0breeze, using EXPERT MODE and BASEBAND PRESERVATION MODE, what’s the best suitable option to update to iOS 5.0.1 while preserving BB to be able to unlock after Jailbreak?

Hello I am not computer smart by all means but I manage to to the sn0breeze and I dont have cydia on my phone Im not sure if I did it right or not sorry for the dumb question.
Oh I when I was restoring it the snowflake did appear on my screen so I thought it worked. But there is no cydia app
I’m using sn0wbreeze v2.9, have created the sn0wbreeze ipsw file but have not been able to run ios 5.0.1 on my iphone4 which is now stuck in DFU mode, because it doesn’t load the file during the restore process and keeps giving “ERROR 1604″ in the end.. i have tried almost everything, uninstalled my AV, installed latest Itunes, uninstalled Bonjour, switched USB ports.. but m still stuck..can any1 suggest me the trick i’m missing..

I was running into the same problem. I tried Sn0wbreeze first, but after a few attempts, I then tried Redsn0w latest version, don’t forget to preserve baseband if need be. Just make sure to follow the instructions given, I don’t have a link to Redsn0w but I am sure you can find it on this site. I upgraded from 4.0.2 and preserved BB.
I almost forgot to mention, RedSn0w has an option to fix the DFU-stuck Mode.

found redsn0w for windows, will give it a try soon. my iphone is actually in recovery mode and not in DFU mode, so the feature of redsn0w to fix the DFU-stuck mode didn’t help

Just take your time, I went thru a lot with mine for whatever reason, but I’ve been trying to remember other sites I went to for assistance, because I can imagine the headache you’re going thru. I hit quite a few sites, this being one of my favorites. But listen, RedSn0w has the option to fix the recovery mode as well, make sure to select Extras when you open Redsn0w and then select RECOVERY FIX.

And just to mention when I was trying to JB mine, I ran into error 1604, it then turned into error 1601, but I was able to overcome the issues. Read the instructions and blog in the page provided. Some people suggested disabling firewall on windows 7, but since you’re not running Windows 7, I don’t think it’s necessary to disable your firewall on XP, not sure. Others suggest trying the entire process on a different computer. You may need to just start from the beginning, to include re-downloading a fresh 5.0.1 (IPSW) – remember to customize it if you depend on BB Unlock.
In the mean time, I’ll keep looking until you get your iPhone up and running, please let me know when you get it working so I can concentrate on others.

Maxter: i do not have access to windows 7, and i’m repeatedly getting the memory exhausted error while trying to create my custom IPSW..even tried the recovery fix mode but in vain
it said “exploit failed” in the end.. now downloading the latest redsn0w 2.9.105bc .. hope it works 
Maxter: it seems i’m kinda exactly on your path and hope i’m able to achieve the goal in the end. your suggestion to use iReb was fruitful as i was not restoring in the required DFU mode. now as you mentioned, even i’m past the error 1604 and now getting error 1601
.. will try it out on my office PC tomorrow. lets hope for the best..also read the bottom of the blog u mentioned.. i’m gonna create a new ipsw file from sn0wbreeze and hope it works.. redsn0w’s custom ipsw create problem ain’t goin away,its still sayin memory exhausted..

I hope the latest Redsn0w works for you. Have you tried holding power (Top) and home bottoms to enter into DFU Mode while connected to iTunes?
Or try Just Boot under Redsn0w Extras and/or Pwned DFU and/or Recovery Fix.
Also, try restarting your computer before plugging your iPhone into iTunes.
In the mean time I am researching the “exploit Failed” you’ve been getting.

That’s a good copy…I wish I could tell you what I did Exactly to get rid off that error, that was the last I got before correcting it, but I tried so, so so many things I cannot quite pin-point what exactly fixed it, amongst the things I tried to fix it: Reboot computer, tried restore a few times with a fresh custom-ISPW, tried Redsn0w Jailbreak and EXTRAS – DFU-Stuck and Recovery Fix options, tried Sn0wbreeze, reinstalled iTunes, used different cables on iPhone to plug into laptops, when I got errors 1601 or 1604 put iPhone into DFU mode a few times while connected to iTunes – then tried to reinstall the custom-ISPW, etc, etc. I hope you get it fix soon, at this point all I can say is don’t give up.

Maxter: Good news Max! i’ve successfully restored my iPhone with the Redsn0w custom iPSW on my Office PC.. thanks a lot for all the support, encouragement and tips you gave..in the end it was all about persistence..now it is asking me to setup my iPhone, i’m currently using it with a Gevey Sim..i guess i should take out the sim first and then setup with iTunes..?? after that use the Gevey sim…

That’s super awesome news, you’re welcome. I am glad you finally got it restored.
Deeps, I don’t have too much expertise to offer as far as Gevey SIM since I don’t require one.
I’ll need to research it a bit. I do believe to restore you’ll need the original SIM card.
The whole purpose of Gevey SIM is to unlock your baseband (to be able to use your iPhone with a different provider than the iPhone was originally locked to, so I believe you don’t have to take it out to set it up (not sure though), but it may give you more problems once set up is complete (not sure) if you don’t set it up with original SIM.
See what you find out, I am doing a little reading on your case.

Hello. I was just wondering if calltell,icall announce and iannounce were ever going to be compatible with ISPs 5 on 4s?? EVERYTIME I get a call or text. And it reads my incoming SMS. It crashes!! I ride a motorcycle and I love that my incoming calls and SMS, get read to me. Can anyone suggest another app(s) or hopefully the creators of these excellent apps are reading this?!?!
