Pod2g and Planetbeing make progress on iOS 6 Jailbreak

At last we have some good news on the iOS 6 jailbreak.  Pod2g and planetbeing have been hard at work and have now discovered a couple of new vulnerabilities. Here are the tweets that were spotted yesterday, first from planetbeing,

“Made some nice progress today with @pod2g. I think I’ll try to reward myself with a nap. :)”.

And, from pod2g,

“@planetbeing oh yeah! 2 new vulnerabilities in a day, chance was with us. But we still miss that initial code execution for a public jb :/”

So, while we still haven’t got the jailbreak, this should be considered excellent news, especially as Apple is tightening up security with each new release.  However, even when it is ready for release there is still plenty of work to be done; it first has to be tested on a whole range of devices to make sure its stable and then there’s the software for the desktop that also has to be built and tested.

Things are moving forward at a reasonably steady pace though so we just have to continue being patient for a bit longer.
