About the new 19 pin dock connector :
The mini usb cable is not just going to be small , it is also faster than previously used 30 pin usb adapter cable . This cable is orientation independent and hence you cannot go wrong whichever way you insert it on the device . According to experts the new dock connector will use a connection mechanism identical to the Mag-Safe connector used on the MacBook Pro series , which will allow the user to insert the connector in either orientation and fit right in the place required for charging and syncing data with iTunes .
What happens to older 30 pin compatible accessories :
