MacbookPro 13″ Retina Display – Features

If you were able to watch Apple’s event through a live blog yesterday then you will know that Apple have lived up to all our expectations, yet again, to deliver us new iMacs, Mac minis, Macbook Pros and the eagerly anticipated iPad mini. In this post we are going to go through the features of the new 13-inch Macbook with Retina display.

Display :

Diagonally the screen measures 13.3 inches with a native resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with a ppi of 227. Scaled resolutions are 1680×1050 , 1440×900 and 1024×640 pixels.

Visually this Macbook promises to be stunning, with the screen being able to portray, and bring to life, millions of different colors to achieve full and deep aesthetics. As mentioned by Phil Schiller in the event, this is a machine perfect for photographers, but more on that a little later.

Processor :

The specs run as follows: 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache.

These specs are the same for both models, the cheaper version and the more expensive one, although Apple do add that you these specs are upgradable to 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz) with 4MB shared L3 cache.

Size :

The Macbook has followed in the footsteps of the iPhone 5 by shedding, literally, the pound(s). The Macbook Pro is thinner and lighter than it’s predecessors, and as mentioned before that the screen (as well the many photography apps), makes this the perfect laptop for photographers, it’s reduced weight and size makes it just as perfect for anyone who needs to travel with it on a regular basis.
