Here is a detailed tutorial for Jailbreaking Iphone 4 using LimeRa1n on iOS firmware 4.1 un-tethered version. Please note that this is the public beta release of LimeRa1n Jailbreak Solution that will run on Windows machine only. We are awaiting a MAC version at the moment. MAC users can use boot camp to run Windows and use this tool for the time being.

Step-By-Step tutorial to Jailbreak Iphone 4 using LimeRa1n :
- Download LimeRa1n in your PC . Download size is 320 KB only
- Please note that you must have an iPhone running on iOS 4.0 or later . To upgrade your device to iOS 4.1 read the Upgrade to iOS 4.1 Retaining Original Baseband Tutorial .
- Now connect your device to your computer using the USB cable
- Start LimeRa1n using the exe file you downloaded
- Click on “make it ra1n” . It will now enter recovery mode . Now put your device on DFU mode manually when asked as shown below .
- Hold Home + Power buttons together
- Release the power button. Keep holding home button
- LimeRa1n is now in DFU mode . The jailbreak will start doing its work now . Wait for it to complete .
- Upon succesful completion , you will see the following message .
- Congrats , you have a jailbroken iPhone now . Start playing with Cydia . All Jailbreak Apps here
- Once Cydia is installed , you can uninstall limera1n from the limera1n app.

Yes i did my iphone 4 on 4.1 firmware and 2.10.04 modem. It work but i had to reboot my iphone after i install cydia to see the logo
hi it worked like a charm for me too on iphone 4 4.1 baseband 2.10.04 but just one tiny bug with the limera1n app the icon was a full white button and not the rain drop.
Also one step to make it clear for newbs:
do not forget to release the home button as soon as you hear the sound of the new plug hardware on windows otherwise if you keep press the home button the limerain exploit has no time to start and you might have a fake done message displayed

I had the same problem and I ran the limera1n again and worked fine.
Tried LimeR1n twice, followed the directions and nothing happened. Same screens as shown in tutorial, but iphone rebooted locked as always with no Cydia. Using iPhone 4 and 4.1. No luck.
mine problem was, that iphone4 needed to be restarted manualy.
done with 4.1, cydia installed. HOWEVER, apps from apptrackr cannot be installed.
Anyone got the same?

hello. i had a problem with my iphone 4 (4.1) after jailbreaking it with limera1n and had to restore my phone, but the problem is i after using limera1n again the icon wont apppear on the iphone , i tried it several times, Please someone help me ASAP. Ps the first time i used limera1n was on windows 7 and the second time was on windows xp, (is this the problem? )

Ok so I deleted the limera1n from my device (according to the loading screen when I deleted it) and then I restored my iPhone 4 to how I had it before, yet Cydia is still there! How can I permenantly remove the jailbreak?

Cool, Ran the LimeRa1in and got Cydia installed. Good so far, device (i4/4.1) is jailbreak’ed. But what about the carrier unlock – My sim card is still unsupported and the device cant be activated. Have I done something wrong or am I just missing something??

i fixed this my problem was i didnt have latest version of itunes installed.. remmember to do that if not it wont work
Ok what you need to do is….manually put phone into dfu mode( hold both buttons for ten seconds let go power and keep holding home till itunes let u kno

turns out you need to update to the latest itunes (i think it is 10.0.1.22)

Woot! a jailbreak for 4.1 that actually works! A little buggy by the looks of it, but since an iPhone 4 is actually USABLE on 4.1 now that it’s jailbroken, I guess I’ll be off to my carrier on Tuesday to go wait in line for a 4.
(I’ve been holding off getting it seeing as a stock phone sucks monkey balls)

It’s a little sad to see him take a little Thunder away from the Dev Team and their efforts on GreenPois0n, but it’s always about the cred. (Of course if the Dev Team didn’t make the release date public, I doubt George would have released his a day early)
Of course, I’ll probably still use the Dev Team release, but JUST IN CASE, it’s nice there’s a backup option out there.

just go in to limera1n on ur phone and press uinstall
When i do that, the red circle just turn and shows a text that says:
“Uninstalling will not remove the jailbreak. It will remove this installation app.”

just try again. if it still doesnt work restore your iphone and try again, my advice just w8 for dev-team to release its much better and i think it will unlock and jailbreak your device

JB it first ofc and make sure you preserve your BASEBAND , i only tried it on Baseband 1.59 !! i didnt try the 2.10 ok ?
so open Cydia , go to manage to sources and press edit and add this : repo.666.ultrasn0w.com
thats it just go to search in cydia now and search for ultrasn0w and install it and bo0m u r UNLOCKED

in fact, theres no limit for cracked apps
theres rumours saying greenpois0n may block cracked apps, its rlly up to u, beside its 3am, greenpois0n comes out in 10am,
greenpois0n is more stable apparently as they put lots of time int o it
I have iPhone 4 with 4.0.2. as OS (from factory). I came till the ‘release power button’ step and the phone went blank. After some attempts it switched on and was in recovery mode. In recovery mode limera1n is not working. I used TinyUmbrella to kick it out of recovery mode. Then again limera1n started – till it came to the above step – and again the screen went blank. Do I need to upgrade to 4.1 before I use limera1n?
Yes, I believe this is for OS4.1 you have to upgrade the OS. Someone posted this problem above take a look.

For those who can see cydia, and cant find the cydia app after installation, u go to search, and key in cydia.. it will install cydia from there for some reason..

Okay. Let me get this straight. I have iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4. My sim card is working perfectly with my phone. All I have to do is jailbreak. If I use this lim, will it lock my phone? :S I can still use my sim carrier as now after the jailbreak, right? Why are people talking about Unlocking then? :S

Yes, I too have a perfectly working iPhone with sim and I jailbroke for the sole purpose off cutomization and stuff. Unlocking is for people who dont have at&t but want to use the iPhone with another carrier. If you have an iPhone 4 working with AT&T simcard then all you have to do is jailbreak and have fun customizing your phone!

“waiting for device” stays on the screen for me and will not pick up my device…Tried on 2 different XP machines….any ideas?
I got the same problem and am trying on even another machine. Im hoping i don’t have to wait for the MAC version but I am running out of patience with windows. The OS sucks
I had to install the new itunes 10. somthing on the windows laptop i had and once i saw that itunes found my iphone i hit the limera1n and it worked fine. You might want to look for the limera1n app on the iphone and click on the Cydia app as well. If you dont see the limera1n app or Cydia just turn the power off and back on. It appears that everything is working fine.

It happened to me too. But limera1n ran on a windows laptop without iTunes. Once installing iTunes 10 and connecting the phone limera1n recognised the iPhone 4 4.1 and did work very fine.

Just wait till greenpoison jailbreak comes out.
Jailbreak with greenpoison, and then with cydia which should be installed too with greenpoison jailbreak, you have to use ultrasnow to unlock the simlock
Greenpoison jailbreak allows you to install “illegal” software like ultrasnow. This new greenpoison will unluck iphone 4 4.1. Will be downloadable 10-10-10 10:10 h pacific time.
Ultrasnow unlocks your sim-lock. But the current ultrasnow seems only to unluck 1.59 baseband. If you have higher baseband you have to wait for a new release

Limera1n also works 0n 4.0.2. you don’t need to upgrade to 4.1 to do it. i just tested it and it worked

this works on 3gs 4.1. no problem at all. what doesn’t work is ultrasnow with new baseband. I have tmobile so I guess we’re waiting on an ultrasnow update. who everdid limerain ur back in the ranks bruh! now we need ultrasnow to work. definitely donating when I get paid.
I installed correctly, updated packages on cydia, rebooted device, and now i can’t open any apps.
nevermind, i shut the whole phone off and turned it back on, everything seems to be working good now.

While successfully jailbreaking my iphone 4 earlier today with limerain i saw that during the RESTORE process with itunes the baseband was also upgraded-losing the 1.59.00-Luckily I have saved my shsh blobs with tiny umbrella–Now i would be very grateful if someone could tell me how to use tiny umbrella to get my original 1.59.00 back-thanks i advance

OK Guys is proved that Limera Jailbreak WILL NOT WORK for who are coming from an ORIGINAL 4.1 VERSION or (original upgraded version), seems that it works only for the ones who had previous versions of 4.1.
Very sadly to point Limera did a terrible job, not just to mention the fact they out passed the other team was going to launch “Greenpois0n” they released a sluggish unworked jailbreak for most of the public who was looking for 4.1
True, mines are original 4.1 version, with latest iTunes and i exact followed the steps till done, and it wont work, i tried several times n gived up =/

I Just JB my Iphone 4 4.1 just now. But I did it twice as I also experienced cydia missing and the limera1n application was not in my home screen. Here is what I did:
Temporarily disabled password lock
Temporarily disabled auto-lock
1) After JB my ip4 restarted, I just saw a white limera1n app in my homescreen and no cydia installed
2) I restarted the JB again, ip4 restarted, Green droplet icon shows up on my homescreen, no cydia
3) I executed the limera1n app, there is an option to install cydia! Selected the Cydia package then install.
4) Ip4 restarted, cydia in now on my home screen.
5) Now enjoying my freshly jailbreaked iphone 4 IOS 4.1
It worked for me on IP4 4.1, i restored the phone to 4.1 and installed the limera1n and after installed cydia over limera1n and thats it.
Phone is working just fine no problems @ this time.

uuugghhh!! So limera1n works – I have baseband 2.10.04 Jb’d – but yes ultrasn0w does not work for this baseband – No I did not upgrade it – I purchased it with this baseband – So for those like me – all this hub bub is crap cuz you still cannot unlock 4.1 with 2.10.04……. iPhone 4 is still a brick.
Im in the same boat as you this really sucks been waiting for a month for jailbreak to have to wait even longer but can you at least install stuff on your phone through cydia while waiting for unlock??

JB for iphone 4 4.1 worked great for me !!!!!!
The Limera1n icon was totally white, but it doesnt matter, you can just click on it and it works.
Then you install Cydia, that came with just a couple of sources, i had to go and surf on the web to find hackulo, in order to have Installous..
anyway.. i was able to download 1 game for free.. (didnt try more.. since i dont have wifi at the moment) and it all looks fine!
So.. Thank you very much to GeoHot for finally releasing the JB.. it’s sad that it had to be on this terms.. and Dev Team.. this is nothing personal or a matter of prefferences.. i just wanted my iphone jailbroken!

Works like a charm. For those having problems getting cydia to load try rebooting your phone then it should work.
Is it ok to update to new firmwares with this exploit or do I stay away ? The only reason I ask was I’m sure I read somewhere that this exploit was “better” than the others. It was not an easy fix for Apple and that they would have to bring out new hardware to get around this issue.

After i ran the limera1n .. everything goes smooth .. but when i open the phone i don’t see the limera1n app .. even though i saw the limera1n big logo when its done exploiting .. and even the limera1n software said it Done .. i can’t see the limera1n app .. whats the problem??
I previously mentioned that i had version 4.1 and modem firmware 02.10.04 and thought that the firmware was the problem. I finally got the green rain drop to appeat on the screen and was able to install cydia.
This is how i got it to work i ran itunes 10.1.22 at the same time i ran limera1n.exe.and completely ignored what itunes was saying, when it got to dfu mode i released home button and saw the green icon rather then the apple icon. Rebotted device and had limera1n as an icon.Clicked on raindrop and after a few tries cydia installed and then it updated the packages in cydia

Guys just did the jailbreak using limera1n. Worked like a charm. I have iphone4 4.0.2 baseband 1.59. Didn’t have to upgrade to 4.1. After jb open limera1n and install cydia. Very important if u don’t see cydia icon (like it happened to me) just reboot device and VOILÀ! Ultrasn0w is already there and boom unlock. Thank u geohot!

This is the first time I jailbreak so I am not an experienced guy just want to give a detail description on what I did, I have an Iphone 4 on 4.1 baseband 2.10.04 I think, the newest one.
This is exactly what I did, I intalled limera1n then I followed intructions on the screen, after that saw an app with white box named limera1 I clicked on it and it installed cydia, after that I went to cydia and when it asked me to update I said just the essential, installous is working and i’m in the process of downloading my first game. Thanks to Geo for this release and I will be donating to his efforts.

I just jailbreak it, and it works well… for those who have trouble accessing cydia or having timeout, don’t worry, because cydia is having server problem after so many people installed limera1n…

One thing I noticed is that when you download an app, you have to keep Installous app open or your download will stop downloading. This is very annoying. The download also disappears and you have to start over. I also think the file stays on the phone somewhere and takes up extra space. Has anybody else noticed this?

Hi. I also have iphone 4 with baseband 01.59.00 and 4.0.2 firmware. I installed the latest limera1n and then cydia. Thereafter ultrasnow. Everything worked perfectly first time. its now unlocked and using it on vodacom network. Please note I did NOT upgrade to 4.1!

Jailbreak and Unlock – it’s now possible for iPhone 4 for IOS 4 and above using limera1n, cydia, ultrasm0w, tinyumbrella (also for phones not activated by a SIM)
I have been able to jailbreak and unlock my iPhone 4 (4.0.2) and for my friend (4.1) by following these steps:
Before starting please ensure the following applications on your Windows desktop:
iTunes 10.0.1.22
limera1n (the latest, currently it is beta 4)
TinyUmbrella 4.1.6 (this is just in case it is required to kick a device out of recovery if needed)
Step 1:
Ensure that the iTunes version is 10.0.1.22
Step 2:
Do the jailbreak as suggested above
During step 2 some errors that might occur are:
The device can keep getting into recovery mode without getting into DFU mode – in that case limera1n does not proceed further. Please get out of recovery mode by using TinyUmbrella – run tinyumbrella, press the start TSS servers and click kich device out of recovery – the device comes out of recovery – though there can be other ways, this is the fastest
The phone may go blank that is nothing is seen on the screen. The recovery mode (image on the screen is the usb cord to itunes) can be got back just by pressing power + main button for about 10 seconds.
After the jailbreak is done, the phone will reboot itself. If it does not, please do it manually.
Now since you have installed iTunes 10.0.1.22 you should see limera1n and cydia icons or at least the limera1n icon. If you have forgotten, no problem. Just install iTunes 10.0.1.22 now. Just repeat the jailbreak process (no need of restoring the OS) and the limera1n icon will appear.
Step 3:
Clicking the limera1n icon will open the package that will have the cydia installer. Click on the cydia installer and then the install button on the top right.
This will install the cydia package on the phone.
The phone will reboot and now you will see the cydia icon.
Step 4:
If you have activated your phone already, just skip to Step 5, but if you have not, you can ‘hactivate’ the phone by following this tutorial:

In short what the process is that under the manage tab sources option, add http://cydia.pushfix.info as source and install it. It should hactivate the phone.
Step 5: Unlocking the phone
In Cydia, click the manage tab and then select sources button in the screen. In the options you will find http://repo666.ult... Click on that. Once again click on the package and click on the install button on the top right. This installs ultrasm0w and now the phone is unlocked. In case the hactivate did not work, you will get a message saying ultrasm0w could not change base or something like that. You will need to repeat step 4 again.

I have an iPhone 4 which had factory AT&T 4.0.2 and was sent to my by my relative to Pakistan. I waited all these months and finally updated my firmware to 4.1 but kept my baseband to 1.59.00. I jailbroke yesterday through Limera1n and everything went great. I installed ultrasn0w but it didnt unlock my network. I connected my phone and opened forecast and in unlockable it said NO. I have all the prerequisites to unlock then why isnt it working?
If it has not been ‘activated’ by an AT&T sim, it cannot be unlocked. Please ‘hactivate’ by going through this tutorial:

I pluged my iPhone in, it startet charging as normal, and I started limera1n on my boot camp. I pressed let it ra1n. And still its saying “waiting for device”. It doesn’t go to recoverymode at all. It’s just staying normal.

I have a factory unlocked iPhone 4 [Band 02.10.04]. It came with pre installed 4.0.2. I updated to iOS 4.1 (8B117) and tried jailbreaking with Limera1n. I don’t see the limerain logo when the limerain says ‘exploiting’. An apple logo and then the phone starts with no limerain app in the phone.
Any idea what is the problem? Please help!

Unfortunately, today i went to get my T mobile sim card cut than i tried to insert it into my iphone put i didnt work. I thought after i jailbroke the phone and unlocked it via UltraSn0w, it will work but it didn’t.

Depends on what are u instaling. If you already have limera1n icon click on it and you will have 2 options to install Cydia and uninstall limera1in. Just install Cydia,after installation is complete open Cydia,go and search and type in to find Ultrasnow then just install it and rebot. Put ur sim card and start using ur iphone.

So I used tinyumbrella to upgrade to 4.1 and keep my baseband. The jailbreak and unlock worked fine. Took my sim to repair shop and had it cut to fit into my iPhone. I am able to place calls, receive calls, send and receive texts however when I am not by wifi my phone displays an “E” is there something else that I need to do or is this the best connection I will get with a unlocked iPhone?

With the help of Limera1n, at first go I was able to Jail break the phone. After jailbreak I deleted Limera1n icon from the i phone 4 home screen menu. I got the icon of Cydia.To unlock the phone I installed Ultrasn0w..I rebooted the phone etc. But still my phone is not unlocked..It is JB but not unlocked.
Pls help me in unlocking the i phone 4 4.1 2.10.04 as unlocking the phone is more important than JB it.
Secondly why I need latest Itunes to jail back Iphone 4 as I noticed that during JB with the help of Limera1n Itunes has no role to play

Your Iphone iOS 4.1 is on the new firmware 2.10.04 there is NO unlock for that firmware at this time. You are stuck as of this time.

Not sure if the latest Itunes have anything to do with the JB, but it seems like some got the JB to work and some don’t and they updated to the lasted Itunes and the JB work. So it’s up to you if it works then don’t worry about the Itunes issue.

Does anyone have an issue with the new iOS 4.1? My phone came with the iOS 4.0.1 and I had no problem with the life of the battery. But as soon as I updated to 4.1 to use the jailbreak, my battery life is bad. I when through and turn off anything that I don’t use to maximize the battery life, but it doesn’t help at all. With the old iOS if I charge the battery to 100% before I go to bed, in the morning it only drain 1% but now it’s draining more then 30% on standby. I have the same setting as when I had my old OS. Seem like the new OS 4.1 have some bug issues. I turn off all the multitask at night and it’s not helping at all.

Well I have no issues with the battery life in my Iphone4 ios 4.1 after JB. If you are using winter board etc. to run themes or ant other app in background than you may have shortened the battery life.
It’s not just me, I read on Apple website that there are alot of people having the same problem, it’s the upgrade to 4.1 that’s causing it.
I am in China, I downloaded limera1n, ran it by the instructions. Got the white icon instead of the drop, turned on my VPN to download Cydia, restarted my phone, and whallah, I have a JB iPhone4 from China Unicom all set up and running my JB apps. And because it is in China, no need for unlock unless I go home to US or want to change to China Mobile (don’t know why, those fools set up their own incompatible 3G network).

For newbies…if u have 4.0.2…u need 2 upgrade to 4.1 using tinyumb maintaining ur baseband to 1.59.00…after dat jail breakin is pretty easy with limerain…u shud knw hw to put ur iphone in dfu mode..n follow d steps…n once dats done a limerain logo will flash on ur screen…dat means d jail break is successful…after dat install cydia 4m limerain…n unlock with ultrasnow….everything is given on this site…js look around…
I just managed to jailbreak and unlock iphone 4 on ios 4.1 and 4.0.2 on baseband 1.59.00…. everything is working perfectly….so far.. what i want to know is if i can update later to ios 4.1.1 or 4.2 without losing both jailbreak and unlock?….is the limera1n THE shatter based exploit that jailbreak all idevices for life?…..

Yes, just go to Itunes and restore, that should get you back to factory, but will not get you back to your original iOS, unless you back up your iOS SHH file. SHH file will allow you to downgrade your iOS, but your firmware will still be the new one and you will not be able to unlock your phone.

I noticed that in the iphone 4 internet tethering is always on even if the wifi is switched off.(i don’t know if this is after the JB)
There is no way to switch it off.
This must me consuming some battery.
Secondly Dear Jammes what you suggest should i restore my Iphone 4 or wait for the unlock 0f 4.1 02.10.04 (my phone is JB with Limera1n cydia installed and locked yes locked to AT&T)

About the internet tethering my phone does the same thing when I turn of Cellular Data and 3G if I go to network from setting. But once I turn those two setting back on it stop spinning. After it stopped spinning I turn those two setting off again. Alot of people are having that problem too, not sure what the deal with that is, I notice that it didn’t drain my battery so I’m not worry.
Yes, right now you can restore it back to iOS 4.1, b/c that’s the latest iOS and you will be updating your firmware as well to 02.10.02 as that goes along with the 4.1. You can JB restore JB restore anytime you wish. If you are using AT&T then you don’t have to worry about the phone being lock. The sim should activate the phone. I’m using AT&T I JB the phone when LR came out, and I just restore my phone back yesterday everything works great.
One thing I notice about this stupid UPDATE to 4.1 it drain your battery, so I when back and do a Restore as NEW phone the problem when away. If anyone care to know that.

I am not using AT&T as I am in India. I am waiting for the unlock so that I can start using my phone with an Indian sim card.
As far as battery life is concerned try the following
Let your battery drain do not recharge(the phone will switch off automatically)
Now wait for 30min. Then Charge your phone for 5-8hrs…and then again let it discharge to full and charge it again..
This would improve the battery life of your phone..

Hello, I am using win 7 ultimate, iphone 4 4.1 BB 02.10.04. Bug is that i have a white limera1n icon and when i tap it to open it, it just load up for 2 sec den go back to the home screen. When I look at the running apps, limera1n is running but however, when I go tap at the limera1n icon agn, it just repeats and go back to the home screen
PLEASE HELP ME… I REALLY WANNA JB MY IPHONE 4
If you have that much trouble why don’t you just try restoreing the phone and re jb it to see if that works. My phone works just fine got the same white icon and click on it install cydia.

Does this work for gen4 iTouch as well? When I pressed home and power and then released power it just locked up and I had to do a restore from the iphone software on my pc

Just tried and didn’t even reach DFU mode … Just stalled at release power button.

Yes, you can connect to itunes after Jail break…Things to remember is if your phone is factory unlocked than no problem at all.
If, your phone is not factory unlocked than you can connect to itunes but do not try to restore it. It be locked again and to unlock it you would have to Jailbreak it with greenpois0n or lime10n etc.
It is safe to connect to itunes before you connect if at all your phone is not factory unlocked than you can disconnect the internet or wi-fi and than connect

Sorry about that. After jailbreak it asked me to reboot the device .Once i did my phone turn off.When i turn it on it only appears Connect to itunes.My computer wont recognized my iphone. It says replace device . ( My computer does recognized other iphone ) But not mine.What should i do now ???
Connect your I phone to your computer. Open Itunes and it should appear.
If not, than hold the power button and the sleep button together while connected to itunes this should solve your problem

What happens on the screen of the iphone when you connect to the computer. try dfu mode and reconnect..
1 Do you have latest itunes or not?
2 Which iphone you have 3gs or iphone 4
3 Is it official unlocked or not?

DFU MODE
If you are getting error (1) or error (6) while downgrading the firmware, you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode before you can restore or downgrade the firmware.
Step 1. Turn off your iPhone.
Step 2. Hold down the power and home button.
Step 3. When you see the Apple logo, release the power button but continue holding the home button down.
Step 4. Open iTunes and wait for it to tell you that its in restore mode.
Alternative Method:
Step 1. Connect iphone to USB then listen to the sound when it connect and disconnect.
Step 2. Hold the home and power buttons until hear the disconnect sound then release power button.
Step 3. Wait until you hear another sound then release home button.
OK, i have the latest itunes is NOT officially unlocked, 4G. I did Everything . But anytime i conect my iphone on usb says USB Device Not Recognized .(No drivers are installed for this device.) When i open itunes still nothing . Pls if u can help me ? i dont know what else do do
Oh man, I think I bug**ered. Have an iPhone 3g with 4.1 and baseband 2.10.04, using iTunes 10.0.1.22. I have tried Limera1n 3 times and have failed with each attempt. Got to “in DFU mode…wait” screen on the 2nd and 3rd attempts. After 5 and 10 mins, I ended the session and had to restore to get anything to work. Now I’m on my 4th attempt, got to the DFU mode screen, sat there, went to restore with itunes and now have an error that it will not restore. Can’t restore, can’t get passed DFU screen. Any suggestions???? No errors from Limera1n, just from itunes on the attempted restore.
OOPS….Correction on my phones baseband, its 5.14.02.
Try to uninstall Itunes from your computer. Make sure all the files are deleted. To to run, do a msconfig, regedit and fine itune files and deleted everything. Then download the latest itunes and try again. Hopefully this work.

I up-dated my wifes Iphone 3GS to the newest Ios for her and am trying to re-jailbreak it useing Limera1n and it goes smoothly until the DFU mode screen and then it doesn’t go any farther, I am left sitting at the comp holding the home button and getting no response, I have used Limera1n on my Iphone 3GS, and my iPod Touch with fast easy success.. hers was previously jailbroke using Jailbreakme before the upgrade happened. Help pls
Why don’t you try backing up the phone first, but instead of updating do a restore. Hope you are using AT%T as this will update your BB, the unlock should be out soon.

Having decided to finally jailbreak my iPhone I followed the above instructions and it was done in under a minute.
I can’t believe how simple it is to do.
Limera1n is so easy a 5 year old could do it.
My only criticism is that the guide doesn’t tell you that you need to have iTunes installed in order to successfully jailbreak your iPhone/iPod.
how long is it normally in dfu mode?? mines been in for about 45 mins now…
