i went to jailbreakme.com on safari, after i slide the bar, there comes the downloading screen, after that, the iphone 4 just pop back to the original screen.

Under 2.) it says you need IOS4, 4.0.2 installed, but under “works with the following devices” it only lists “iPhone 4 on 4.0.1″. So what gives? Will this work with 4.0.2?

once the iphone 4 is jailbroken. can you still get the updates apple puts out? i jus got my iphone comtemplatin jailbreakin it. should i?
there are many reasons why you should and should not jailbreak.
if you want to be able to maintain your jailbreak you will not be able to update via the official apple methods until a jailbreak is released for that iOS software version.
for example, say you are running iOS 4.0.1 which is jalbroken when iOS 4.0.2 is released.
you will have to wait until someone devises a way to jailbreak this iOS 4.0.2, then update via the offical apple method, and rejailbreak using the new 4.0.2 jailbreak technique. and so on.
unless of course you can update from the jailbroken 4.0.1 directly to the new jailbroken 4.0.2 with a custom *.ipsw file via an alternare jailbreak style update process.
i wouldnt advise jailbreaking unless you know why you want to do so.

Nope. Once u update to 4.02 u cant jailbreak
My iphone 4 comes with factory unlocked with 4.02. So the Jailbreak is not support. Do you have any idea when there will have a newer version for ios 4.0.2

I wont suggest any other , jailbreakme is the easiest and the most reliable way to jailbreak iphone 4.
Its the best jailbreak so far , now guess how earlier jailbreaks used to be .
you’ve to wait a while , it was just the first release , more stable version wil be coming after iOS 4.0.3 is released in Sept.

Jailbreak will find a hole in the current hardware / firmware to allow us to install Cydia [anothr apple app store like independent app store made by developers not bound to the cconditions of apple ]. So you can install apps that apple wont allow …. allows tethering of your phone like [WiFi modem] and other features …

Search for “how to downgrade iPhone 4 firmware” then do the jailBreak. JailBreaking is a little tedious, but doable.

5. iPhone 3GS New Bootrom [Must be previously jailbroken on bootrom 3.1.2]
6. iPhone 3GS Old BootRom [Must be already jailbroken. If you are jailbroken using userland jailbreak (Spirit, JailbreakMe)install Spirit2Pwn.
I’m running iOS 3.0.1 (7A400) on a 3GS Phone that I’ve never jailbroken nor have I ever updated factory installed iOS.
What does the above mean to me?

just restore your phone , and the jailbreak is gone , its completely reveresible and does not affect the value of the phone …..
I have a jailbroken iPhone 4 at OS 4.0.1 Have loaded several jailbreak apps, including, MyWi and Cydia. I’d like to upgrade to 4.1 and use the Pwnage jailbreak tool. Will I lose my jailbreak apps when updating to 4.1 through Apple’s portal, or will they remain on my phone but just not work, until I use Pwnage to re-jailbreak the phone again?

Does the 4.0 Jailbreakme.com link still work? When I go to the site (after disabling popups, with OS4.0), I slide to jailbreak, but then it just hangs with the purple background. When I go back again it says Oops… blah blah crashed etc.
I have just received iPhone4 from Vodafone UK and need to use it in the Netherlands (on Vodafone ironically) but it appears blocked. Since I have transferred my Dutch sim to my new micro sim I cannot receive any calls until I unlock my iPhone4!
Also if I do succesfully jailbreak, how do I get the Dutch settings to replace the Vodafone UK ones?

If I download it on 3G instead of wi-fi like recommended, how much data will this use?
I am on a limited usage data plan, since apple started limiting it at a max of 2GB.

Jailbroke via latest redsnow using windows 7 on an iPhone 4 with 4.3. Everything seems fine until I tap Cydia. It doesn’t run the cydia app, just bumps back to the main screen.

you dont require to save shsh blobs if you dont want to downgrade . Save shsh blobs in your current fimrmware [jailbroken on stock]
