- Right click the application and open it in Administrator mode .
- Connect your iPhone 4S with the USB cable on your PC

- Tap on the icon and it will do the final process to install Cydia on your phone and reboot .

my absinthe hangs in ‘preparing jailbreak data’ plss help thx so much XD
The same thing happened to me just now I have an Ipad 2 3G
absinthe stuck and report error “preparing jailbreak Data” Doesnt work
Just keep trying many times it happened to me too
Then I changed the USB position and keept trying until it was fine

Make sure you unzip both data and absinthe files..I was only unzipping absinthe and not data..Once I did it, it worked!!
Just tried on my wife’s Ipad 2 3G and worked in less than 3MIN with NO issues. Excellent job. I will be donating some money and now I’m off to purchase my Ipad 2 3G – 64G and pick up 2 Iphone 4s 64G at ATT/Best Buy.

Do note tt the more apps and data u have the longer it takes to jb.
On a factory default status it takes 5 mins.

With 10gb of data it takes 30 mins.
If u have anything more than 10gb, I suggest u back up, restore to factory default then jb. Thereafter restore it again.
Tried on both ipad2 and 4S it works.

I used this on my iphone 4s and everything went fine at first. I lost my voice signal, my top bar said “No Service” and so I decided to restore my 4s using itunes. (I had the latest version installed on my laptop AND I was on 5.0.1 on my 4s). I am not getting a 1601 error failure to restore. What can I do now? My phone is bricked at this point…
Try to reset all settings it happened to me also

i had the same problem, untill i dissabled the firewall and the antivirus on my computer before updating my iPad2 from 4.3.5 to 5.0.1… try it and i guarentee you it will work.

How many hours should it stay on the “Beginning jailbreak, this may take a while…” screen?
Mine’s been on over an hour with the progress bar only about 10-15% blue.
Mine did the same I thought it was stuck after about 30 minutes with no progress. Now the Absinthe recognizes that I’ve already attempted to jailbreak and tries to recover and says it was successful but when I try to unplug the USB cable it does the same thing over and over.
On the other forum they responded to the problem. Essentially, the current version has trouble with units that aren’t fairly “empty” — so they say to backup, restore to original (minimal) state, do the jailbreak and restore your backup (details on the other forum). In other words, that tells me to wait until they get a version that works right. iTunes has never worked well at restoring my loaded up iPhones or iPods touches.
I also thought that it might be an operating system issue, since I was using Vista on the original attempt. So I tried it on another computer with XP Pro on with the same results. Then I tried it on another computer with Win7 Home Premium 64 bit — with absolutely no results — it didn’t recognize the iPhone. As you can see at
— the AutoPlay window recognized the iPhone and so did the ‘Computer’ (formerly ‘My Computer’). But Absinthe is still waiting for me to plug in the plugged in iPhone. Oh, well … maybe the next version will work.
Absinthe ‘stopped unexpectedly’ when it gets to ‘preparing jailbreak data’. Anyone else have this problem? Also, does anyone know how to fix this?

Never mind, i solved the problem. I only extracted the absinthe file instead of the whole zip file including the ‘data’ folder.

I jail broken my iPad 2 wifi and 3G successfully an cydia install without any problem but when trying to open cydia it will only blink a flash and nothing happen. Does anyone encounter this issue with iPad2? iOS is 5.0.1…. I’m planning to restore from 5.01.1 again and try to re jailbreak later…
“Recovery completed. If you want to retry jailbreaking, unplug your device and plug it back in.”. Happens because it was unsuccessful the first time and now it “repairs” then whenever I should unplug and replug it again the very same message comes up again.
Not to be ungrateful you all fixed Jailbreak but why launch a program where it’s still problems with on at least Iphone 4S ?

Hi all so i download absinthe for win and ran in admin mode but its stuck on the “beginning jailbreak, this may take a while.. ” screen and the progress bar doesn’t seem to be filing up ? i downloaded the latest iTunes seeing if that was the problem but nothing yet :/ any body having this problem too?

Make sure absinthe is not on your iphone, I know mine did that and it was all ready installed on my iphone

Doesn’t work cause the Jailbreak button won’t work.
Its working. All you need to do is first back up your iPhone 4s or iPad 2 to iTunes. Then reset your phone like a fist day. Do not unplug and run jailbreak software when it says unplug don’t unplug and finish the settings set up than unplug if nothing happens plug in and run jailbreak once again.

Worked great with my carrier-locked 4s. It took two tries, this is what I did: after it hung for 5 minutes on the first try, I shutdown my computer (Windows 7 x64), turned off my phone, and plugged the USB cable into another USB port. Booted my computer again and waited for the hard drive activity light to stop. Turned on my phone, put it in airplane mode, turned off “Autolock” and “Lockcode” in “Settings” – “General”. Started Absinth again with the phone still screen still on. After a couple minutes, I noticed the activity circle in the upper left-hand corner of the phone’s screen, and the rest of the process was straight-forward.

It is stuck at “ABSINTHE is now setting things up, please stand by …” tried to turn on the VPN connection too … but error occured ” A configuration error occured” … and VPN is OFF again … what is the problem here … can somebody please explain

Run the absinthe apps again, when you will see extract the files extract it and do the jailbreak and if it will do the same you better go to iTunes and restore your 4s and try again to jailbreak but if is the same delete the apps and download a new one
