Jailbreak Iphone 4 4.1 – Pwnage Tool Tutorial

In this tutorial I will explain how you can jailbreak your iphone 4 4.1 on your MAC using Pwnage Tool. Follow the steps below to jailbreak iphone 4 and install Cydia. We are expecting the release of a Carrier Unlock for New Baseband 02.10.04 on 7th or 8th of this month .

You can unlock your iphone after jailbreaking with Pwnage Tool using the method explained below.

Steps to Jailbreak Iphone 4 4.1 Using Pwnage Tool – Mac Tutorial :

Make a folder named “Pwnage” on your Mac Desktop and download Pwnage Tool [links at the bottom of page]
Download iOS version 4.1 for your iDevice [ link on Download Page]
Use Firefox browser for downloading as sometime Safari browser starts to extract it automatically after download
In Step 4 double-click on your download to mount Pwnage Tool. Now drag the Pwnage Tool icon into the “Pwnage” folder just created on your desktop.
Double click on the Pwnage Application to launch the Jailbreak process [shown in the image below]
In your next screen select OK to proceed with jailbreaking. In the device selection page select your device as shown in the image below . This should be easy
Pwnage Tool will now automatically select suitable firmware version for your device and highlight it with blue . Next step is to click the blue arrow at bottom right of your screen to proceed.
Pwnage Tool will ask confirmation for creating custom .ipsw file for your device. Select yes to proceed
This step will take around 10 minutes to build .
Next you will be asked to enter your Admin Password. Enter the detail and proceed
After the creation of .ipsw file , you will be asked to connect your idevice with your Mac. It will then show you how exactly to put your device in DFU Mode. If you cannot follow the on-screen instructions , just follow the tutorial here to put your device in DFU Mode.
After entering DFU Mode , Pwnage Tool will ask you to start iTunes on your Mac
Steps from here are just as normal restore you do on an iphone . Press and hold Alt | Option key and the following screen will appear.
Click the Restore button and choose the custom .ipsw firmware built-in the above process in the Pwnage Folder.
The restore process usually takes around 10 minutes to complete followed with a reboot of your device. After the reboot , you will have a jailbroken iphone .
