I’ve tried through jailbreakme.com and get the error message “Version too new. You need to downgrade to 4.0.1 or earlier (which may be impossible,)
I’ve also tried with iNeedjailbreak.com, i downloaded the iPhone3,1_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw and the PwnageTool 4.1. I have problems with openning these two. please can you refer me to a site where i can easily download a software and use to jailbreak.

hi, I use limera1n + ultrasnow for ip4. if you have problem with cellular data network. just get out your simcard when your ip4 is working then wait for 5-6 seconds and put it again to device..check your settings you see that cellular data network option comes and working…
for mms issue. my problem still goes on… i ve tried different applications from cydia but i only manage receiving MMS but not sending…
I have the solution. By accident, I did that process on the submenu phone. And it automaticly configures your carrier setings. So now i can send and recive mms.
I just unlocked my iphone 4 by using Cydia “ultrasn0w” in order to use other carrier.
but i have frequently experienced problem of showing “no service” in a normal place and somehow it just dropped for no reason, which i have to reset my iphone network to get the signal back on.
i was an iphone 2g and 3gs user. i unlocked it everytime and i never experience problem like this.

i got same error on my device. i just turn off 3G on ip4 and turns it on when necessary. now i ve no signal loss or no service anymore… i know it is not best solution….:(

Thats because you are on BB 02.10.04 or newer … you have to wait for the new Ultrasn0w or Limesn0w whatever comes 1st
I am facing the same problem with my iPhone4. Signal outage, No Service, Carrier Loss. My iOS Version 4.1 and Modem Firmware (Base Band) 01.59.00. Its Jailbroken. you will have to wait just like me, i have the same iPhone u have with baseband 2.14.04, u can jailbreak the phone but can’t unlock it just yet, until someone releases it after iOS 4.2 comes out in November, which i think it might be in 3 weeks.
If i have had by mistake updated my iphone4 with originally ios 4.0.2 BB 1.59.00 to ios 4.1 BB 2.xxx.

I just used limera1n to jailbreak my new iPhone 4 which I bought a week ago from AT&T (with the latest version of iOS and firmware). So far, my phone is working fine,and Cydia is working fine also. However, it seems like the power usage is a bit faster after using Cydia. Anyway, I am waiting for the latest version of ultrasn0w to unlock my phone. Thanks!

I have a question, was hoping that someone can help me with.
I have an iPhone 4 4.0 that I got overseas that was locked on a Canadian network. I only was able to get past the emergency screen because my canadian friend had his sim card with him. Therefore i was able to jailbreak it and unlock it.
Now i want to upgrade to 4.1 using limerain or greenpoison, i’m afraid of losing my unlocking. because if i did i will not be able to get past the emergency screen without the canadian simcard.
I read that recboot can be used to kick ur phone out of the emergency mode. will that help if i lost my unlocking during upgrading?

Restore your iPhone and update to 4.1 then activate with iTunes.

nope , you can always do a restore
I jailbreak but not unlock MY IPHONE 4G ( FIRMWARE 02.10.04 ), Cydia appears and install the Ultrasnow program ( until now trying to find the signal).
Programs : Limera1n and still trying to unlock with ultrasnow (Cydia program)
Not to be rude, but if you have taken your time to read the post and do some research you would have known that Basebanh 2.10.04 cannot be unlock YET. You can use limera1n to jailbreak the phone but ultrasnow will not unlock your phone with the new basebanh. Wait a few more days for the new 4.2 OS to be release then the team will release the unlock HOPEFULLY.

If your sleep button is not working then something is wrong with the software or hardware. Try restoring the phone if that does not work then you may have a hardware problem. Take it to apple if that’s the case.

I used Greenpoison for my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.1, FW 2.10.04 as far as i know the baseband cant be unlocked yet, but before jbing just remember to backup, save SHSH blobs and change root and mobile passwords. But in my opinion i think greenpoison is easier to use. Just read up about GP and it’ll be a breeze.

When I bought my 1phone 4 in hongkong, the sales man told me, i can unlock my phone but i cannot jail break. Now, I’m not sure if my phone is really factory unlocked, (due to language barrier) all he said was it’s locked now. How can i check if my iphone is factory unlocked or if it’s just sim locked because of the limera1n? I want to update my ios to 4.2 but im afraid i will have to wait longer to unlock my phone if in case it’s not really factory unlocked and I changed my ios to 4.2 from 4.1 with baseband 2.10.04. Please HELP!
If it’s factory unlocked then any sim will work. If your sim does not work then it’s not factory unlocked. The limera1n is just a jailbreak I don’t see why it have anything to do with the lock or not. I would not update the OS at all, and why would you even want to when there are no unlock software yet for the 4.2.
