In just 9 days, on January 30th in New York, RIM will make their last-ditch attempt to stop the Blackberry name from sliding into oblivion forever. It’s no secret that the last few years have been a bit of a disaster for them but they are hoping that their run of bad luck will come to an end with the launch of their brand new smartphone, the BlackBerry Z10 – incidentally, the first device to br running their new overhauled OS, BB10. German site, Telkom-Presse have released a video showing a comparison between the Z10 and the iPhone 5. Firs though, here’s a quick comparison of the main features on the 2 phones :
|Display Size||4.2” HD||4” Retina|
|Resolution||1280 x 768||1136 x 640|
|Processor||1.5GHz Dual Core||1.2GHz Dual Core|
|Internal Memory||16GB||16, 32, 64GB|
|Front Camera||2 megapixel||1.2 megapixel|
|Rear Camera||8 megapixel||8 megapixel|
|Micro SD||Yes – up to 32GB||No|
|HDMI port||Yes||No – Lightening Port|
If you take a look at the video you can see the difference in size between the phones, along with design – for starters, the ports are placed differently and the BBZ10 has a skid proof backing as opposed to the rather slippery aluminum one on the iPhone 5. RIM has also incorporated a voice activated assistant, similar to SIRI but faster and more accurate. Multitasking is much faster and smoother as is flicking between apps.
On the face of it, it looks as though the Blackberry Z10 could give both Apple and Android devices a serious run for their money, as well as a few hints on features for their next operating system releases. What do you think ?
