Your Iphone 4 can now do an ECG . Alivecor announced its new Iphone 4 ECG System in CES 2011 , Las Vegas. Instant ECG Iphone 4 App will actually allow you to monitor your Heart Rate and Cardiac Activity using your iphone 4 and a special case made for this application.

Instant ECG is not yet certified as a medical equipment in the United States . The company is yet to start the sale of the Specialized Case that assists the ECG app running on the phone to take accurate readings of the electrical activity of the heart over time captured and externally recorded by skin electrodes . When cleared this app will allow you to use your iPhone 4 as a Personal Heart Rate Monitor .

    As a Medical Doctor and working in the field of General Medicine I can trully say that the possability to have a handy affordable event recorder at your disposal when doing visits is trully amazing. I cant wait for this to be validated and calibrated to see how wel it works

    Humm I don’t see how it can be so usefull if you have only 1 derivation (D1) ? Without pre-cordial and pre-frontal electrodes you can’t do mutch.
