iPhone 5 wowed testers with its super fast Benchmark results, and now the iPad 4 has achieved the same result with its 10% faster speeds. It runs the same A6X chip as the iPhone 5 but at a higher frequency, which explains the slightly increased speed.
The iPad 4 clocked at 1.4GHz in the Benchmark test and is much faster than the iPad 3, which runs a 1.0 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 chip, but only slightly faster than the iPhone 5, which runs a 1.3 GHz ARMv7 processor. The iPad 4’s 1GB RAM is the same as the iPhone 5 and the iPad 3 .These results tally up with Apple’s claim of 2x faster speed.
Primate Labs’ John Poole reported that the first report was published in their database on Sunday night.
If this benchmark result is real (and there’s nothing in the result that indicates it’s a fake) then it shows that the new iPad comes with a dual-core processor running at 1.4GHz. This result also shows that the new iPad comes with 1GB RAM, the same amount of RAM as the iPad (3rd generation) and the iPhone 5, and twice the amount of RAM as the iPad 2.
The new iPad is 10% faster than the iPhone 5 (unsurprising given the new iPad is running the same processor as the iPhone 5 at a slightly higher frequency), and is over twice as fast as the iPad 2 and the iPad (3rd generation).
