Battery draining on older iPhone models like 3GS and 3G makes sense, as they do multi-tasking, but on the other hand iPhone 2G does not multitask, or even change its background, still gets poor battery life after the upgrade.

Actually, the original iPhone doesn’t support iOS 4 at all. Only iPhone 3G and up are supported. The 3G is the one that doesn’t support multitasking or home screen background. Only the 3GS and iPhone 4 support all iOS 4 features.

Great website anyway, by the way :-)

If you do a “factory reset” (which leaves all data and programs intact) you will experience longer battery life.

Yes , thats true. It will revert it back to older firmware i think. But multi tasking is a power consuming feature in iteself

I had a 3G about 2 years old and battery life had become dire. I am running 3G with OS4 and it runs great and for a long time. The secret? I put in a new battery afterall it is now 2 years old. 3G does not support multitasking
