Last week we saw the release of iOS 6 Beta 4 for developers. Rumor has it that this may be the last beta which means that we could be seeing a new firmware release fairly soon. However, it doesn’t look as if there is a great deal within the release to get too excited about and for those of you who are waiting for an untethered iOS 6 jailbreak, the advice is to steer clear and not download it.
Today we saw a tweet from iOS hacker i0n1c,know for being a little bit controversial at times, saying:
“There must have been some change of guard at Apple.iOS6.1 adds again tougher protections although public JB community hasn’t broken iOS6 yet.”
While it is possible to jailbreak some devices on iOS 6 , newer beta releases make it far more difficult for the jailbreakers as, with each release, security is tightened up a little bit more. At the moment it is proving difficult for the dev teams to provide an untethered jailbreak for some devices on iOS 6, most notably the iPhone 4s and iPhone 5. However, it is being worked on, although there is no sign of a release at the moment.
