Steps to Jailbreak Iphone 4 4.2.1 – SnowBreeze 2.2 Jailbreak :
- Install latest version of Itunes 10.1.2 on your pc . Sync your device and backup all data .
- Download 4.2.1 ipsw file for your device and place it on your desktop
- Download Snowbreeze 4.2.1 Jailbreak for Windows and run on your device. Make sure you have .Net installed on your PC . Download Link available on the same page for Snowbreeze 2.2 download.
- Now in Snow breeze application windows choose “Expert Mode“.
- Select the ipsw file downloaded in Step 2 and proceed by accepting the notice.
- In the next steps you can check to “Activate the iPhone” if you are not on the official carrier . This will hactivate your phone .
- Select “build ipsw” and allow SnowBreeze to make the custom ipsw firmware file for your device.
- Next step after the custom ipsw firmware file is built , you have to Restore your device to this firmware .
- Start iTunes and press hold “Shift” Button on your keyboard and click Restore on iTunes .
This will prompt you to choose the ipsw file of the custom-built firmware you just created with Snowbreeze. Select the appropriate file and allow iTunes to restore it to your device. - You phone will now restart for the changes to take effect .
- Restore your device to the backup created earlier in Step 1 to get back all data from your previous sync .
Update :
If you are getting Error 1601,1604,1600 , then you should download iReb RC 3 on your Windows PC and follow the instruction before restoring to the custom-built firmware . This will help bypass the above errors and allow smooth restoration for your jailbroken device .

Guys, It will not unlock the phone for different carrier usage, It will HACKTIVATE IT, Which means that you’ll bypass the activation screen the first time you boot your device.

No, it is not a unlock! You have te wait for the unlock like I do…..
This is only for JAILBREAK not for UNLOCK!
If your baseband is 3.10.01 this will not work. The hack is still not available. I have done research on this.
In case anyone has unlocked BB 3.10.01 of iPhone4 4.2.1, please correct me.

Yes, correct. Its only meant to Jailbreak. For unlock of BB 3.10.01 of iPhone 4 4.2.1 the hack is still not available. Am waiting too!!

if you jailbreak your iphone, then it will not take more than 3 minutes to unlock it.
simply follow these steps:
Start “Cydia” on your iPhone.
Touch on “Manage” tab on the bottom.
Now touch on “Sources”.
Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add”. You will be prompted to enter a url source. Type “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com” and touch on“Add Source” to add this repo if you haven’t already.
Cydia will now automatically update your sources by following a series of automated steps.
After installation is completed. Search for “ultrasn0w 1.2” in Cydia and install this application. This app will automatically unlock your iPhone so that you can use it with any carrier.
Now simply restart your iPhone and voila! you should now have a fully unlocked iPhone 3GS or 3G, running iOS 4.2.1 !
We are looking for unlock for iPhone 4, not 3GS or 3G.
the unlock foriphone 4 bb 2.10 & 3.10 will not be released until apple released 4.3. i have a tweet today that 4.3 will be realesed in march so all guys have to wait till march or may be april to have the unlock for iphone 4. i just throw my ipohone 4 for a vey less price because i fade up since iam waiting for more than 4 months to have the unlock.(

iPhone4 can not be unlocked. Ever. The first batch came out with BB 1.59 and the unlock was given to the community because Apple wanted all users to be able to use there carrier. Since the end of August last year they sell factory unlocked phones for a LOT of money and did not give any unlocks out.
Please do not think that any Dev Team or others unlock the phones. They never did and they never will.
I got the Iphone4 in November which i didnt even want cuz i was hoping for the iphone5 in 8 months with 4G speeds and 3D technology but it fell for the 100 time n finally cracked it still worked but it was cracked pretty bad no more 3G i had to buy the 4 for $160 CDN the next day when i got home before i even plugged it into itunes i plugged it into lime ra1n to jailbreak it then went to cydia downloaded hackolous for my free apple apps then checked and saw 4.2 wasnt out yet so i updated it 2 days later it came out havent updated my itunes since so i lucked out there

It is not working for me. Ik have downloaded the ipws files and snowbreeze but i cant select the expert mode, the option is not there, and when i browse with snowbreeze there is no ipws file in the folder iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148_Restore.
Can somebody help me. Ik don’t understand it.

I was able to create the custom ipws but when trying to apply it I get error 21 and nothing happened. The phone is in Recovery Mode.

AFAICT, yes. In fact when you run the program it says that it never will touch your BB.

Hey man. In the same directory where you launch the application. I unzipped the app in the Desktop and after creating the firmware it was automatically placed in the Desktop.

No. Once you click Shift + Restore button the phone will be put in Restore mode automatically for installing the custom firmware.

Don’t understand why people bought their iPhone and complain there’s no unlock at the first place. Then come here and nag about it, if you guys are so desperate to get an unlock iPhone, why don’t you get a factory unlock one from elsewhere and stop complaining here.
Two reasons: Not everywhere are unlocked phones available. And even when they are available, you often get scammed, in the USA for example they sell unlocked phones for $700 but when you try to put a different carrier then AT&T in there, it becomes clear, that tr is NOT unlocked. The unlock only applies to a contract, not the carrier.
Also, at the time (August/September) the unlock sales just started. But all phones sold then already came with BB 2.10. So no chance. However, the dev-team is promising for 6 month now and some people (about 2 million) believed them.
Today we know its all a big lie and a big scam, but hey, you live and learn. Bad for Apple,I know nobody that even considers getting another iProduct.

why is there an error when i installed games after JB.. it states “ERROR BUILDING SBCa… NO dsid FOUND”? but my games can still be installed and played normally.. just that this error msg bothers me.. please help!!!!

I (think) I just jailbroke my iPhone using SnowBreeze jailbreak, but I can’t see any cydia-icon. :S

Ok Ihpone 3g already on 4.2.1 baseband 5.15.04. Snowbreaze seem to work find. I get to when screan goes green message says know u can restore custom firmware. I try following steps on itunes get a error. I tried even after i rebooted phone itunes just sits there saying preparing for restore. Should i leave phone with the screan green or reboot. Either way i cant load the custom firmware file. Even renamed file like the original itunes file name.
Ok, for all those getting a Error 21 when trying to restore with the custom firmware, I managed to get around it. Here’s how:
Everytime I followed the details in this walkthrough, I would get the Error 21. What I noticed in the Snowbreeze version I downloaded, after creating the custom firmware, there’s an additional step-by-step walkthrough in Snowbreeze to put the phone into a “special” blackscreen version of the DFU recovery mode. I tried that, and once I had the phone in this “other” recovery mode, I then tried to Restore the custom firmware in iTunes, it got past the Error 21 point.
It just finished loading the customer firmware to my phone successfully, and now I’m in the process of restoring from my last backup.
So, to sum up, this guide is missing a step. Before you attempt to Restore this firmware in iTunes, complete the “special” DFU mode walkthrough in Snowbreeze. THEN go into iTunes, and restore the customer firmware.

I have no idea what you mean by “special” DFU but the one SnOwbreeze has is not working on my 3gs 4.2.1 setup. iTunes reads new firmware as “not compatable.”

Great. Jbed my 3g with this tool and it worked flawlessly. Now i am on 6.15. Is it possible to unlock? if it is, when my carrier isnt working ,cydia will not dwnld ultrasn0w. so any way to add ultrasn0w in cydia via pc?
Ok new version 2.2.1 worked well no flaws but after i jailbreak i get no signal. Tried the network and all settings reset. Does this mean i need to unlock as is not original sim. I work fine if i restore to itunes firmware.
