Fu*ken A……That is all I have to say…..I just dropped my IP4 into the d@mn toilet the other day. It wouldn’t turn on in anyway…..

  2. DarkShadowX21 says:

3 days later, it came back to life after a little bit of self taught fixing. Took it apart….and pretty much lost the camera and vibration thing after putting it back together. The vibration is super weak but still works and the camera does not work at all. Everything else works perfect on my phone though. I am thankful for that at least :D

Fabulous idea but would consumers be willing to pay an extra fifty bucks for this insurance? I doubt it.

  4. Taikoubou says:

Would people be willing to pay 59 dollars for waterproofing. I would say yes. Carriers have insurance that you pay every month and its not cheap. This is a one time fee and if it lasts for the duration you have your device then that is awesome. Having your device away for a day or two might be another problem :3

Yes and no. For a NEW phone that doesn’t have all the personal info on it, sure, but to send off a phone that has contacts, phone numbers, pics, etc, NO!

Regardless of how much integrity a company has, there are individuals within a company that their curiousity trumps any policy they have in place as far as trying to access another’s personal info.

      • mmafighter says:

        i totaly agree with this!!!

an option would be, if your iphone 4 is jailbroken (4s cant be JB yet), then you can set up lockdown through cydia and lock the individual apps like photos, contacts, settings, internet, etc.. they no business looking inside the software, since they are working with hardware, so they have no reason to be going through apps.
just a thought… or lock the entire device all together and set your device to “erase all data from device after 10 failed attemps”

      • Greg says:

MMA Fighter (by the way, can’t get enuf of cage fightin’!) Sorry, I digress, but yeah…

Buy a case that is built to be dropped, kicked, etc instead of wasting your money on a novel thing, and then strap it on either your chin or your chest and jump into the octagon! :)

On and on I could go. Hey, don’t get me wrong, I took the link…enjoyed the video, and it rates as “NEAT” at best.

If this was so FOOL PROOF, would not Apple (or ANY company) seek to be buying them out so they could tout their products were H2O proof instead of letting this start up try to get all the glory?

        Whatever~~~~~~~~~~~~~ :)

  5. Albo says:

Manufacturers must waterproof their device using this technology

  6. Marcus says:

Sounds nice aslong as it wont be too expensive.

  7. Suresh says:

Yes. They can charge extra for this option!!!
    Kind of warranty!!

  8. joe says:

Hey, how about the option of ording the hot blond in the bikini in the video instead of the waterproofing?! I’d go for that in a heartbeat!

  9. wrx7182 says:

Apple should be incorperating this technology into the next gen iDevices. We pay so much for them the least they can do is provide a little protection.

  10. Bob says:

If done at the manufacturing level, this would cost pennies, not $59 — if it really works, all manufacturers should use such a technology. Yes, slightly lower phone sales but that would be more than made up for by I crested customer satisfaction and loyalty.

  11. wake says:

I’m pretty sure this technology will cause some problem of cooling(still remember when u running a large game, you phone became hot). I guess that’s the reason why apple won’t introduce this to iphone.

    • Gabo says:

Agree!. Sometimes my iphone gets hot (unusable with the yellow triangle and needs to cool down so it can be used), just for having it in my motorcycle holder in the summer. I bet this technology would make it worse…

    • wrx7182 says:

Never thought about over heating…maybe not such a good idea. I guess if it over heats you could always put it in some cold water!

  12. Ayman says:

This is perfect, but how about over heating?

i’m using iphone4 and ipad 1 and both have over heating problems, not enough to restart or stop working tough.

so i imagine this coating thing will increase the chances of over heating.

  13. Vij says:

A very good idea if its produced at manufacture level
as for heating how about pouring a jug of cold water on it that should it cool it down

  14. IRWIN says:

How about the speakers ? Waterproof too ?

  15. Dilshad says:

But its nt possible.. coz charging port is open headphones port is open speaker mic ringer holes are also open.. howz water wil not enter in it n if these points are closed then how could we use them..???

    • Hamid says:

haha, u didnt get the point, this coating will repel water , so if water goes into any part of iphone, water will not b absorbed and the device will be safer

  16. Greg says:

I didn’t get the point?!?! Forgive me, but u/stood very well :)

Now, what YOU didn’t get is MY point(s) perhaps? Here, let me review…

    1. Nobody wants to part with their PERSONAL phone for any unduly length of time
    A. Life styles are too busy, and most don’t have an alternate phone to use while theirs is being transported to/from this retailer.
    B. I wouldn’t (and most would not) trust a personal phone in the hands of who knows who, to have at their disposal for fear of viewing contact information, photos, etc. Hey, there’s a reason they’re refered to as PERSONAL cellphones, hello!

Now, without viewing my initial comment, those were the PRIMARY concerns I posted I believe, correct?

Let me add this lastly which is worth noting…

In the event it got water damaged, do you think Apple stands behind it? Let me answer..Nooooooooooooo!

Will this company provide you another NEW phone? I don’t know, but if they would….
    1. Would it be the identical model? 2. What if the phone is not produced any longer? 3. Would it be a refurbished phone? 4. Can you replace photos, contacts, etc that were stored on your now water logged phone? I’ll answer again, NO!

Guarantees and warranties are put to test when they have to be used. Regardless how good it sounds, many warranties are worth the paper they’re printed on only.

By the way, with repeated use of a docking port, or inserting headphones in/out, will this product wear off in time?

I fully u/stand nobody is ignorant enough to go scuba diving with this product in place on their phone.

…and before you write me off (because you misread my notes, and probably ASSume too much), this is a GREAT product imo!

However, if s/one wants to spent the $60 or so (cost to ship? I didn’t read thru all the info), it’s a very novel thing…”Hey look e/body, anybody want to bet me I won’t submerge my iphone in this pitcher of beer?”

(These thoughts are coming to me as I type btw)…

Is it valid against water only? Are there fluids that will eat through and erode the covering in time?

Why is this product not used in the boating industry to some measure, or some other industry that has reason and cause to implement its use?

IF (and a VERY LARGE IF) I had $60 bucks to blow on a novel thing like this, and IF they were next door to my home, I MAY consider having it done, but neither will come to pass :)

Hey…there are cases that will protect just the same, and you will be better served spending your money on a case where your phone is more apt to be dropped on the GROUND than in the kiddie pool is my guess?

    Enough said

  17. Mmafighting says:

All I can say is, WOW!
All this over a “novelty” lol
