Apple’s iPhone lets you rename you folders, and that’s great, but if you want to go a step further and completely customize your iPhone, iPad or iPad you can with a tweak from Cydia.
To continue you must first have jailbroken your device. There are plenty of walk-through available online and it only takes a few minutes. If you haven’t yet, do so and then come back o find out how you can start personalizing your device . Also ensure your device is running firmware 4.0 and above.
Here is a YouTube Video showing how it works :
- Search and download Icon Renamer and Install from the Cydia store
- In your settings locate the app and tap it and enable ‘double tap’
- Hold any icon down on the home screen until it does its little wiggle and tap on it.
- A box will pop up (as shown above) allowing you to rename your app to whatever you’d like it to be called .
This is a simple app but one that will really notice, particularly when compared to a friends’ device, and shows how well jailbreaking helps to individualize your phone, setting it apart from all the others.
This tweak is, like many, free to download and easy to use. If you have any trouble locating the app you can search your device for it using the inbuilt search tool. This also allows for quick access without going through the settings menu. Installing this app lets you change Photos to Dave’s Awesome Pics . Now who wouldn’t want that ?Sponsored Links
