How to Jailbreak iPhone 4 using AcidSn0w

Acidsnow developers have fixed the copyright issues existing in their jailbreak tool and released a modified version which supports jailbreaking on iPhone 4 . Follow the tutorial below to use Acidsn0w to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4 , iPod Touch 4 and other iOS 5.0.1 supported devices except iPhone 4S and iPad 2 .
Note : Using this tutorial you can jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 with Acidsn0w . This is a tethered jailbreak . An un-tethered jailbreak is in the making and will be released soon. Check out updates at the bottom of this post .
Steps to use Acidsnow to jailbreak iPhone 4 :
- Download Acidsnow jailbreak link . **Mac Only
- Turn of your device and connect it to your Mac .
- Pt your device in DFU mode . Follow the instructions below to put your device in DFU .
- Once your device is in DFU mode , launch the Acidsn0w application and click on “Jailbreak” button
- The jailbreak process will begin and your device will reboot . You will now be able to see a white Cydia icon . This is because it is a tethered boot . To get normal Cydia icons you have to boot tethered by putting your device again on DFU and click on “Tethered Boot” button .
- Install Free Semi-Tether jailbreak app from Cydia to boot your phone without using your computer .

Thanks for the update , im waiting for the un-tethered (real) jailbreak for my iPhone 4 .
And I’m waiting for 4.11.08 unlock.. I wouldn’t even mind using a thetered jail if only I could use my phone, not an iPod…
same for me! how can it be this hard to break this baseband of the 4.11.08?? and is it possible to upgrade the baseband to a higher one?

i have iphone 4 with os5 and bb 4.11.08,the carrier is softbank from japan.i am using a gevey sim. now it has no service because of os5. what will happen if i download os5.01? can i jailbreak it now,so i wont use the gevey sim anymore? will the phone work?

Semi thethered Jail is possible for 4.11.08 , no unlock by now… How ever everyone were talking about an unlock before 01.12.11 than the first Wednesday of this month … All f@ke.
wait… do u mean they are trying to come up with something? or the talk about an unlock is fake?
Well if ask me this program does the same as the others basically jailbreaks the phone but offers NO solution for the 04.11.08 baseband problem.
Let’s remain patient and appreciate the creative minds that will figure this BB 4.11.08. It’s a great challenge that I’m sure one of theses creative folks will figure out….
