The release of the iPhone 5 has seen, as per every new iPhone release, a major increase in the trade ins and selling of older iPhones. If you are selling your iPhone, and especially in light of the new USA rulings that unlocking of phones will be illegal from 2013, you might want to do it pretty sharpish. And before you send list your phone as ‘factory unlocked’ on eBay, Craigslist or other advertisement site you might want to double-check that your phone has definitely been unlocked. Of course this works both ways, so if you have recently bought a secondhand phone you can try this as well to check if your phone is unlocked.
Update : If you see the results coming “Fake” imei , warranty status , then it means the database servers are down and the site was unable to check your data . Try back later on non-peak hours when the server load is low .
First you will need your imei number. This can be found on your iPhone by going Settings > General > About. If you are on an older phone you can dial *#06# to see your device imei.
Step 3 : Enter your number, without spaces, into the box and click ‘check’
Step 4 : Your phone information will be displayed on screen. Click the “free simlock status check” to get your unlock status and warranty details
This is the simplest and easiest way to check the information on your old or recently purchased phone.
