What is Gevey Sim ?
Gevey Turbo Sim as they call it is actually not a sim . It is a sim interposer . An interposer is an electrical interface that directs the connection from one socket to another. The purpose of a sim interposer in this case is to re-route a connection to a different connection which can then unlock the iphone 4 . Gevey Sim Interposer is an integrated circuit which contains the unlock exploit using emergency number dialing [112]. The diagram below can explain the integration in a better way .

The Unlock Video below shows two carrier locked iPhone 4′s running firmware iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2.1 . The guy inserts the Gevey Micro-Sim Card on both devices which then shows invalid sim card inserted . Within few minutes both the phone are unlocked and show network bars . The unlocked phone were then able to make phone calls and access internet .
How it Works ?
SIM card holds many different types of information, but the part most involved with carrier lock is the IMSI number, which is a unique code that corresponds to your account in the mobile carrier’s database.
A sample IMSI might look like this
310 150 987654321
The first two segments are known as Mobile Country Code (MCC) and Mobile Network Code (MNC) respectively, and in the example above the IMSI indicate the SIM is from USA (310) AT&T (150).
When the iPhone baseband is loaded into memory, it checks the MCC and MNC against its own network lock state stored in the seczone. If the combination is allowed, the cell radio is activated and vice versa.
The earliest iPhone baseband revisions only check IMSI twice following a restart, therefore it is very easy to send spoof information in order to bypass the check. Nevertheless, the baseband was soon updated to validate SIM more aggressively and the method soon became obsolete.

I have read about Turbo SIM & Super SIM. Not sure, how successful it will be & how much this TSim will cost. But I certainly think this as a ray of hope for Millions with thier iPhone4 BB 2.10/3.10 waiting for a desperate unlock..
Just for you to know, I even checked out with Apple Customer care, they told me to call AT&T & they would be able to provide you an unlock code. The CHAP at Apple even said, that he himself got the unlock code for his iPhone4 bought from Apple store in USA for $700. He said his phone is now working..
So I thought of giving it a try & called AT&T International Customer care & requested for the Sim Unlock code. AT&T guys refused to give away the code. I checked with them 4 times in a desperate hope of getting the codes. One of the executive asked me all the details of my phone like- Serial No. IMEI & Sim IMSI number. But all in VAIN
They told me that currently the unlock code for your device is not available, you can check again in 2-3 months time..
I wonder if any such code really exists..
But my friends it was just another failed effort from me to get this $hit unlocked..

AT&T won’t even give you the code for a regular phone after the 2 years are over. Sure in he11 they will never give you a code for the iPhone. Maybe the guy above for lucky somehow, but 99% they will never give out the code due to the fact they know you will sale the phone or something in that manners. I heard people claim that the carrier will unlock your phone after the contract is up. You can call up AT&T and they will never said that is true in their contract. Do they have the code I believe they do, they contracted with Apple so if they wanted to code I believe they can get it for their customers, but they won’t. So it’s just de@d water for the customers.

I bought an iPhone 4 4.1 without contract from US when I was working there and now I have been transferred to UK.I called Apple and AT&T guys. Apple store guys asked me to contact AT&T for unlock codes. But when I called AT&T, they said unlock codes are available at Apple, They’ll help me if I contact with Apple Care. I called Apple Care, after listening to my problem, the Apple Care guy told me to sell off my iPhone on Ebay or Amazon.

Finalyy a revenue based solution came out. Why release a software unlock (free) when you can make millions with a hardware solution.. smells like a well thought plan from all the unlock teams to finally make this monopoly pay off. Just think about this, if it was you the one with the solution, will you give it for free, after all the hipe and having a better idea of the market size for a paid solution, its obvious that this was coming out. Lets see if their strategy was desinged well enough to set a price point where everyone will jump in!!

The card is out and sold over a variety of channels, from the original website all the way to ebay. Prices running around $50. According to the first independent tests it seems to work, although there are a lot of “buts” and “ifs” however, for the majority of users it should work.

2. Look at the time on the iphone 4.2.1 clock. It says 4:34 and jumps to 4:36 in less than 1min. At 2:38 youtube vid the iphone 4.2.1 clock is 4:34 and 40secs later at 3:18 youtube vid the iphone 4.2.1 clock is at 4:36

I just read an article about this by some American guy, they actually tried this sim themselves and it does actually work, but not on all carriers… there are some speculations as how good or how long it will work, either way this thing does work. But the sim costs $59, they said if you are really desperate buy this, and if your not then just wait for the unlock from dev team…

u can use it with any iphone4 with those two unlockable basebands as it is specially designed for that..but u can use one with one iphone at a time as u have to keep it inside the sim tray with ur sim card..its not a software to permanent unlock but only a hardware..

I read the FAQ in applenberry and the thing that worries me is that they say the turbo sim will work if the number 112 is an emergency number in you country.
I call 112 and it just says “Emergency call failed”, so it wn’t work for me? (I’m in Guatemala)

En Guatemala no funcionaría. Se debe poder hacer llamada de emergencia sin SIM. Ningun operador de GSM de Guatemala ofrecen llamadas de emergencia sin SIM. Si no tienen SIM no pueden pegarse a la red de telefonía.

Why nobody says that you HAVE TO call 112 everytime you boot or respring?!! I read it in some forums.
And as somebody said above that the fact that in your country has to be 112 was on applenberry site FAQ, I looked up now but it’s deleted!!!
I think thats the reason for tricks (as srinivas said above) in the official youtube video. They cut out the procedure for calling 112!!! Because in few countries this number exists not and of course they want to sell much as possible and they don’t want to scare their future customers with this ESSENTIAL “feature”…
So choose if you really want to call 112 everytime you reboot, your battery goes off or you turn to airplane mode!!!!!!!!
Here in Germany you can get into jail for misuse calling 112… And there is NO JAILBREAK!!!

u dont have to worry abt it nothing will happen if network signal is low or if signal is lost just wait for signal to come back . only u have to activate it again if u reboot ur device..

i visited the gevey-3g site and i think they r fake. cos the pictures on media tab have some web addresses on it and most of them are off or not mentioning about gevey. the original site is not reachable now. and i think this gevey-3g site has established just a couple of days ago.
i hope this would not be another failure for us waiting for months.

i just bought the gevey turbo sim on ebay for $79.99. i’have read lots of good reveiws about it so i just went dark and bought it and i saw many people bying it so it could be real. good luck to all of us whom been waiting for such a longtime.
ok guys yesterday i bought it here in china and tried on my iphone4 bb 03.10.01 and here is my review- it is working fine without any signal problem. only if u reboot ur device then u have to repeat the same procedure from begining to activate it again and its very simple process. they have provided me with a small booklet in english showing all the steps to do it. u have to use the sim tray which is provided by gavey and also have to cut slightly the corner of ur micro sim in order to fit into it. regarding the price and availabilty i paid 388rmb(60$) and its hardly available in china only at few places. they donot have enough stock to deliver to other countries including india .they said it will take 1 to 2 weeks to available in other countries. i dont know whether it will work for indian sim cards or not . anyone who wants to make a try can contact me on (kuldeep_chauhan421@yahoo.com) i can send a courier from here. as i will be returning back to india after 3months and would use indian sim card so wants to know desperately if it works there..

i think it should be 112 im not pretty sure.. but whatever i found in google says 112 is an international emergency no. even if its not supported in ur country u can still call and local operator of ur country will transfer ur call to locally available emergency no. so it means all the same, that’s what we need to unlock is to have access to emergency service via 112 to your operator which u want to use in ur iphone..

Right below VERSION we can see CARRIER option is ther which has some CARRIER LAB 8 & 9 already reflecting for both phones. My iPhone has nothing selected like this. Instead my phone’s option reads CARRIER = not available??

Have u got the sim. If yes then read the small booklet inside it and follow the instructions to unlock and u will see it with ur own eyes to get unlocked phone. And regarding the carrier lab it’s for china mobile carrier here in china. If ur phone not showing it it means u r phone is nt using any carrier now. And if it’s locked to some carrier then it should show that but may be it’s deleted frm carrier bundles inside ur phone. If u delete the carrier bundle of the carrier to which ur phone is locked it then it doesn’t shows any carrier.

nope ..i dint use gevey sim…. i had it unlocked via carrier ..as uk carriers provide unlock for iphones .. the guy took my imei no. and activated it through officially via apple…. all i had to do was check my phone by connecting through itunes.. when it was unlocked it just went over through activation screen to info of my phone …

I live in Taiwan, I received my Gevey sim today, it worked!
While cutting away the small piece of the original SIM card, do be careful assuring not having the exposed IC pins (very small portion that we may almost ignore of them) contact to the metal part of the SIM. This took me about an hour to figure it out and had it work.

Hi, I don’t want to take the SIM out from the phone, given that the seller emailed me about the re-unlock process being so simple
I used a small piece of adhesive tape and covered it on the pins of IC for assuring a good isolation. Not a big deal.

yes u can use in multiple phones but have to use in one phone at a time. like i am using now one sim in my phone the same u can use for ur phone also but my phone will not work without it as u have to keep it inside ur phone in order to get unlocked working phone.

this gevey sim along with ur regular sim unlocks the phone .& should sit in the phone for functioning.u cant take it out after unlocking…
If u change ur sim the process needs to be followed again to unlock ..

Yes you can do the following to keep your iphone unlocked while you’re in the USA.
You do the process with the sim inside, just don’t run off or reboot your phone, use airplane mode, and when you’re in the other country just switch airplane mode off and viola!

Sorry but the dev Team did not come sooner and certainly not later with any unlock for the iPhone4. Ever. All they did where bringing promises and talk. Now, 6 month later and half threw the lifetime of the iPhone4, they admitted that they never had anything. And that they “moving on”, meaning that work on an unlock has ceased, not that there ever any serious work.
Waiting any more is quite useless.

Why fake? The Gevey cards are sold on e-bay, on e-bay .uk for example they sell packs of 100, they also deliver to India. If a shop in Delhi bought them, it should be possible to buy them there. Applenberry is by no means the exclusive provider.

Do NOT try to call 112 with a VALID SIM from any phone, it is illegal, WILL be punished and has nothing to do with the Gevey SIM.
This Card builds on the fact, that 112 is reachable WITHOUT SIM. Even if you hear that the number does not exist, you DID get on the network so the Gevey Card can fake a Provider to get you on.
