I have heard that provision is given for only micro Sim cards,is it ? I am importing it from US, is it possible to insert the normal Sim card r we have to cut down to micro to suit it?,..also blue-tooth in previous versions support headset only,is file transferring possible in iPhone 4?

there are a few Do-It-Yourself guys who have achieved this but cutting a SIM into a micro Sim, and then successfully using it in their Iphone 4 , but this technique is not recommended ,and there is no assurance that it will work,
it really works. i have a friend of mine and we did cut a regular simcard and it works. its been a week now and its still working

hi, i sent one iphone 4 from ireland to india but it does not work there, it shows no service. what the user should do now write me please i am worry about this
It is a risky business but after having my sim card re sized.. using a sim card punch designed for this application and using it in conjunction with a turbo sim mine works with no hassle whatsoever.. just be sure to remove your pin number as turbo sim does not work with it in place
I’m sure you gave a complete answer to that question but as a newbie, Can you tell me what a Turbo Sim is? and are they Both placed at the same time? Also, I have no idea what the pin number would be. Can you tell me where to find it?

The only way is to either cut down your sim card (if possible) or just try to get a micro sim.
Also there is no file transferring, due to Apple’s strict copyright attitude they refuse to allow it.
Micro is not available in all countries. Cutting the sim seems to be a risky business

Bro, I like your views …. I too have become a victim of micro-sim. What do you suggest I should do? Do we have experts in Ktm who can cut the sim to the right size?
My uncle recently bought an ipad 3g he needed a micro sim he clipped it and it worked if you are careful take the chance.. if not just go to ur carrier and pay an small amount to get a micro sim =)
My regular at&t SIM card does not look like the ones shown in the pix.
It has additional contacts above and below those shown. If you
cut the SIM to fit the holder, the metal frame of the holder will
short those extra contacts to each other.
I wanted to put my old SIM into the iPhone 4 to transfer my contacts
from my RAZR to iPhone, but it would not work.
There is a warning about using scotch tape along the edges; it makes
it all fatter and will either ball up inside the iPhone or will spread
the iPhone contacts and make it unusable.
There may be some iPhone compatible holders out there made of plastic
that *may* work, but the descriptions I’ve seen do not describe in
sufficient details. It was *scary* to use the all metal Apple holder
with this SIM card; I had visions of a big short and melted iPhone
motherboards, but nothing bad happened other than it would not work.
Oh … and when I went back to the Apple SIM, I had to reboot more than
once to get it to “take”, another scary moment indeed.

After jailbreaking my iPhone 4 my data connections don’t work with my original sim card (now cut to size). Any reasons why this is happening?

i have a 3gs 16 gb and recently updated to 4.0.1 and activated with a phone book card and jailbroke and unlocked and now everything works fine and iam able to use any sim card. but the only problem iam facing is that when i connect to i tunes iam getting an error saying ” iTunes could not connect to iPhone ** because an invalid response was received from the device. my itunes version is 9.2.0.61 .. kindly help me out Thanks..

remove the sim and insert it again and connect back to iTunes. its an unlocked phone right ?
Yes buddy , phone is unlocked already and also tried removing and inserting sim many times as u said, but still the same prob, i tunes does not identify my phone..

You can transfer your number from a previous sim to the one going in the iphone, thats what i did

Typical Apple, always upsetting industry norms and accept standards and creating headaches for people such as having to get new phone numbers to get a new card in a i phone 4 that should support normal sim cards anyway coz guess what? thats the industry norm just like flash is not HTML5, Long live Nokia and boo! to all control freak companies!
My friend bought an iPhone 4 off eBay and successfully managed to cut his sim card into a micro size. I wouldn’t recommend this though as my friend is stupid – just buy a micro sim – most of the time cutting your sim doesn’t work :L
get a sim cutter , its the best option and cheap to . a micro sim cutter should be avilable in less than $10
Bought an iphone 4 on ebay but there is no tray and the seller says they tried the phone with a normal sim – it was in the box. Can an iphone be used with a normal sim?

please i have 2 problems and would be glad if you can solve them for me , 1. my iphone 2 isnt coming up and i have tried updating it with itunes but it shows me error 1601 what do i do and the other problem is that my iphone 4 is in german language and when i try cutting my sim to insert it ..it doesnt recognises it at all, please what do i do?
i just did it worked fine…just take your time and you will be fine…i used a straight toe nail clipper…don’t use a curved one, use a straight one…and then just start with little chunks and work it down to size…key thing is to take your time…
i bought an iphone 4s and i will have to cut my sim down. do you have to jailbreak your iphone before its accepts the cut down sim or are you good to go after you cut the sim??

so can you use a regular sim card
It definitely works trimming the sim down to fit the mini slot. I was impatient and did not want to wait 3 days to get a new sim, so I took a chance and it worked. I was extremely careful with the scissors only taking off slivers at a time, working my way down to the correct size. My sim was a couple of years old and much larger. Ensure that you do not trim any of the panel. it fit with a millimetre spare each side and works fine. the sim is placed face down. Good luck!

Want to use pay as you go sims on our orange contract iPhone 4 and 4s. We bought orange pay as you go sims and a micro sim cutter since bothbiphones require micro sims. My husband has cut the sims with the micro cutter but when they are put in the phones it comes up with no service in the top left corner.
