After I jailbroke my iphone I noticed a tiny white line in the right and left upper corner of my phone and after restoring the phone the white line was gone but when jail-breaking the phone again the tiny white line appeared. The white line shows up when restarting the phone or turning the phone on.

I am having almost same issue. I have a little line on the top left. This only happens on booting or restarting winterboard. It seems to have no effect on anything, also goes away once at home screen or lick screen. I am not going to worry about it. Everything I have done works flawlessly! Thanks everyone!

Minor issue after the jailbreak
Okay, it’s a minor issue, but what will it take to fix it? An updated or alternative jailbreak?
Both iPhone (4/4.0.1) have had this same problem. I tried a restore the first time, and the same lines appeared immediately after Jailbreak.
I am wondering if 100% of all iPhone’s have this issue, and if not, what was their exact workflow.
Confirm all iphones have the same issues after jailbreak.But I don’t know how to fix it. Let dav team to investigate and solve it.

Do not worry. These white lines are used for JB.
Certain code for JB needs to ‘survive’ during the boot process.
This code is temperarily stored in a graphic buffer of the lock screen, what you see is the actual code for JB.
Lines are harmless, are a result of JB and are necessary for the JB because code for JB is stored in that area.
How to delete or hide it?

It’s a watermark. Every jailbroken iPhone running iOS4.x.x will have this. It makes it easier for the ppl at Apple to see if it has been jailbroken because issues caused by jailbreaking is not covered by their warranty. The only way to get rid of it is to restore and set up as new iPhone, not with a backup. This is what I was told. I’m never jailbreaking an iPhone again though.

and the prevous comment, ‘code is temperarily stored in a graphic buffer of the lock screen’, sounds a bit more logical than the idea of apple watermarking JB devices.
if they wanted to identify a jailbroken device it would not be difficult, you could do so yourself.
i wouldnt stress.
Restoring to get rid of it will only work if you set up as new iPhone instead of using a backup. And I’m sure that not everyone wants to lose everything from their phone. Yes it’s easy to tell if a device is jailbroke, but they can’t tell after a restore. That’s what the watermark is for.
Installed some app from installous now phone has a line across the screen. Please help
I jailbroke my iphone 3g after getting an iphone 4 and i got the white line also. But my 3g won’t boot up now it just stays at the apple logo screen. help?
Iphone 2g, 3.1.3 OS, today i noticed that i also hava a small white line above my battery on the top right hand corner.
It is always there. (on desktop, when in app etc..)
The line is about 1pixel wide and just covers a bit over the battery and does very long.
No idea what caused this line to occur as it was not there before.
My phone is also jailbroken but it has always been, and this was not there until recently. I have no idea what caused this to appear.

Howya! i have a loads of lines all compressed together on the top of the screen! these lines cover the battery symbol and go all the way across from one side to the other! Then bellow that i have another 3 lines slightly below that again. These lines arn’t compressed however! The interaction between me and the phone isn’t great! its quite slow!
