Hi, I have a jailbroken iPhone 2G . My problem starts when I use Installous and try to download applications. I then connect my iPhone to iTunes to add music and it deletes all my downloaded applications. How can I avoid this from happening ?

I’ve just put Cydia on my iPhone 4, and, using Sprintomizer, re-arranged my icons to my taste. However, when I sync my iPhone with iTunes, it re-arranges the icons all over again, and it looks a mess. Is there a way to keep my own layout and still sync my iPhone ?

I’m having the same problem, iPhone 4 4.0.1. A few buds are having that problem too on there non jailbroken iPod 2Gs.
My iTunes even deleted my purchased apps.
install AppSync and you’ll be fine
what is that ? a JB app ?

hi guys,i am getting intallation error when m trying to install apps thorough itunes (downloaded from apptrackr.org )i got iphone4 4.1 i was able to jailbreak it with green poison which realy works. but apps giving installation error
. i tried apps like brothers in arms1 and 2 ,tom tom navigation, and death cop but got same error with all these apps. other apps which i downloaded directly from cydia repositories are working but in those sections there aren’t new apps like call of duty and bia2 etc. ofcourse m not complaining but juz trying to give u guys a kinda feedback. so if u guys can plz tell me the solution for this problem that will be great. m new to jailbreak solutions so may be i dont know which sections include these kinda cool games, so could u guys plz help

first of all dont search for apps from cydia. install installous or appcake which are good free game installers. (i recommend installous) and when you install them alls you have to do is check “iTunes Sync” on the settings of Installous or Appcake ann/ or download Appsync from Cydia that allows the syncing ocracked apps
If youhave cydia then your ipod is jailbraked,but first you have to go to cydia then manage and gO TO Sources .Then click on edit and add .It will show you ENTER CYDIA/APT URL.yOU WRITE After the http cydia.hackulo.us and press add source .It will show a warning press yes. Now go to your sources and press hackulo.us .Install the app sync of your version and installous .Now you can download what ever you want from the app store by installous
Is it possible to do a backup of the jailbroken portion of my iphone 4? Yes, I understand I can backup with itunes, but what about all the cool stuff I download through cydia? =)
use app sync , that should work …. its on Cydia

@Jason Just use iFunbox or any SSH or tunneling solution and backup the mobile folder (excluding the /var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control and /var/mobile/Media/DCIM)to your computer. To backup apps, install PkgBackup from Cydia. This should back up your cydia applications and tweaks.
There is no ‘jailbroken’ section as such – different things are installed in different parts of the file system.
hi i am haveing problems when i try to sync my jailbroke i phone 4.1. every time i sync itunes removes my installous apps and i have downloaded appsync for 0s 4.1 from cydia and it still does not work??
I’m with Rob on this issue. I have OS4.1 and have installed AppSync for OS 4.1(v. 1.0.1) on my iPhone 4. I still can not sync my apps or music. I did the install with Cydia and restarted after the installation. What could be wrong? Should I delete the package and reinstall? If so, how do I do that? Help is appreciated.
Well, I answered my own question with asking what to do.
Rob, I just went into Cydia>Manage>Packages. I pulled up my AppSync and did a Reinstall. Verify that you have AppSync version 1.0.1. I did a Respring and now I am syncing my iPhone with iTunes. Hope that this helps.
I have the same problem. I have already reinstalled the App sync and reinstalled Installous. In the Installous I unchecked the app sync, but still when I”m trying to sync the phone I”m getting the message: iTunes could not back up the iphone because the back up could not be saved on the computer. What I can to do?

I install Installous and downloaded few apps from it.
Recently, when I sync my iPhone through iTunes, it removed all the apps that was downloaded from Installous.
Does this always happen or something new to us?
first open itunes on your pc and simply download a free app. then connect your iphone to your pc and senk your iphone.If itunes ask you to transfer items to your library from your iphone click on transfer.The problem sorted out

I’m still on firmware 4.0.1 and jailbroken with tons of mods. If I update to 4.2.1 and jailbreak, do I have to redo all of my mods or will they still be there after I re-jailbreak it?

i have the same issue with iphone 4 4.3.2 it was working fine just a few days a go and yesterday it stop working i have everything just the same it this happen to me before when i was on 4.1 once and the only solution i found was to to a restore and rejailbreak … after that it work again but it a pain to do all over again every time this happens
i have tryed all of these and more and none of them have worked. i am on iphone 3gs with 4.3.2. every time i sync with iTunes it says on the sync bar at the top deleting “selected app” so what should i do now. i have reinstalled app sync, turned off itunes sync on installous and am completely lost haha. if someone knows the answer please post because this is really annoying.
I had the same problem and the only fix I found was to restore my iPhone, now the new 4.3.3 is out but you can jailbreak it with pwnagetool 4.3.3 on the de team blog, I suggest you to update your iPhone and re install installous that way it will work… I try deleting installous and reinstalling and many other thing and nothing work only the restore update and rejailbreak

That’s going a bit far, restoring I mean. Just right click on your device name in the iTunes sidebar (on the left) and choose Transfer Purchases every time before you sync. Problem solved.
Hey, I had this very annoying problem for a very long time! (I just completed Jetpack Joyride then it deleted it!!!) The solution for this is when you plug in your iphone into your computer, BEFORE YOU CLICK SYNC, go to file->Transfer Purchases from X’s Iphone. (X being your name). This will move all the apps that aren’t on your iphone onto itunes so that when you sync it won’t delete them. (The problem is that if itunes doesn’t have a copy of the app and the iphone does, itunes automatically just wants to delete it because your account doesn’t have authorisation to have that app) Good Luck!!!

Hi! I had this problem.I also tried to reinstal installous and AppSync and it didTunes on another n^t work. Then I”ve reinstalled I”ve reinstalled ITunes, in the Installous unchek “sync whis ITunes”. When your “new” ITunes comes up,connect your IPhone but do n”t sync yet. Click on your divice, you will see, that also sync apps, also sync music, sync photos… everysing is unchecked. Now put again your music,photos, videous, photos and everysing you want in ITunes library. In your devices in ITunes mark what do you want to sync (music, videous, photos…). Now sync your IPhone. It works perfectly. Have a fun!
If the problem is only about the apps that will be deleted then you just copple you’re ipod/iphone to the cpu and if itunes come up don’t synchronise yet. Go to you’re ipod and click ‘apps’ then you select must unselect ‘synchronise apps’.
So have fun with it!!!
You music synch to the ipod/iphone and you (jailbroken) apps are standing on you’re ipod as well.

when you unselect “sync apps” it deletes all of the ones on your ipod. you obviously have no idea what your talking aboutt, sorry

I recently jailbroke my iPhone with the redsnow 4.3.3 software. I tried syncing it with iTunes and it says it can’t read the content, and tells mento restore. I’ve tried solving it but no luck. Anybody have an answer? Please!!!!!

Hi.. I’ve downloaded ipad games via installous and went Successfully.. However certain of the games that I downloaded when it times for “updating” it goes to the Apps Store updates.. How come? And when I try to update, it said ‘your game is not a full version… Bla bla bla.. “
You have to update via Installous. Go to the Updates tab in Installous and install your cracked apps seperately. This is the downside to having cracked apps. There’s no Update All button.

You can go to your ITunes and uncheck “sync apps”. You woun”t see your apps in ITunes, but it woun”t delete them on your IPhone when you sync. Good luck!
thanx a lot for the answer but what i want to know is, is there a way to sync cause i want to add these 2 games on my iPhone cause i didn’t find them on the internet as rapid share or torrent without losing the apps on my iPhone?
Authorize your iTunes with the username and password those iPhone apps were downloaded with by going into iTunes and clicking Store > Authorize this Computer
Then right click on your iPhone on the left and click Transfer Purchases. When that’s done, try syncing. Good luck!

K then. Time to bring out the big guns.
Download iFunBox for PC/Mac and hook your iPhone up. Choose User Applications (on the left bar) , highlight ALL the apps on the right (the names should be random letters and numbers) and right click > Backup to .ipa Package.
Copy them all to one specific folder, then (when they’re all backed up, copy them into the iTunes app directory. (on a PC, the path is ‘My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications
after each .ipa for each app is in there, try syncing your iPhone. Good luck
i did what you said i place the apps in my mobile applications folder i start the iTunes but in my apps doesn’t show the apps that i put there, also the folder mobile applications wasn’t in itunes media folder in fact there wasn’t any itunes media folder there was in my music/itunes/and then there was mobile applications folder-itunes music folder album artwork folder and other files so i even fix a folder and place it like you said but still nothing

ok then. In the iTunes folder that you have, make a folder called ‘Automatically Add to iTunes’, put ur ipas in there and fire up iTunes and sync

hey i try to download cydia on my iphone 4 updated to the new 5.1 but when i try to sync it in… its says that it failed what can that be from ?
Hey until now i have had no problems but now all of a sudden when i sync my phone with itunes it deletes all of my installous apps. I have appsync 4+ installed. I even uncheck the “itunes sync” option in installous and this is still happening… never had a problem until now…
Both my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 4S (on iOS 5.0.1 and untethered jailbreak) do not transfer cracked applications in iTunes.
I mean, right clicking and choosing the option “transfer purchases” transfers in iTunes library only the applications purchased by App Store.
Anybody else with this problem? Any hints?
By the way, the option “Sync with iTunes” is on in Installous…

Download a free app from AppStore. After installation, download one from Installous and install it. Reboot. Try transfering from iTunes now: let’s cross our fingers….
Before what I wrote above you could uninstall and re-install both Installous and AppSync 5.0+, anyway I am not sure this is necessary….

PS this seems to work installing apps trough Installous, doesn’t work using iFunBox “InstallApp”. Anyway we could use iFunBox to put the file in the Installous download folder and then install from there.

And so, my solve of this question is….reinstalling iTunes?
Maybe sync with iCloud also helps.
I don’t know if anyone posted this… but this worked for me… Go Edit >> Preferences >> Devices and check the box that says “prevent ipods, iphones, and ipads from syncing” and you should be able to sync music… I don’t know about apps though
hi i want to ask something i bought an iPhone from someone else but i wonder if i press in MY iTunes to sync with that iPhone in the applications menu all the apps and games which is inside to folders are they gonna be out from the folders? cause in the iTunes it shows me something like that, that they gonna be out to the screen so will i have to add them again in folders? and if that happens the folders that i already have are they gonna be deleted? thax.
on 5.01 jailbreak. basically i want to sync my music with my itunes to add new music but whenever i go to sync it wants to delete the apps bought from itunes, i have tried to transfer purchases but it starts to transfer the jailbroken apps so i do not let it finish syncing. Pleasee need help only jailbroke my iphone the other day so am i newbie.

No, no you have nothing to worry about. They won’t get deleted.
You have Installous, right? If so, they won’t get deleted.

All you need to do is authorise you PC in iTunes.
Open iTunes
Click on Store –> Authorise This Computer
You will then have to log in using your apple id.
Once you have authorised your PC you wont loose your apps everytime you sync.
Worked for me, might work for you. let me know if it worked.

as soon as i sync my ipad after adding movies to itunes, all my apps re deleted together with the data in the apps.
Should i avoid syncing my ipad and remove the usb of my ipad directly?
Please read the other solutions already provided in the comments section for other people’s issues. Transfer Purchases should work, an if that’s not allowed, Authorize your Computer.
my iphone4 is unlocked and its jailbreak too. to use another sim card i have to sync in itunes but i haven’t done yet coz’ scare of losing apps n may be can’t stay as it is on jailbreak again because of ituens version.

hi i want to ask something i have a jail broken iPhone 4 and i have download from the iTunes some apps i add them to installous then i install them and then when I’m trying to open them they just won’t open they open for 1 sec i can barely see the picture and then they close anyone knows what’s wrong??? please help.
Pricisely what (website or program) are you using to download the .ipa files?
i download them from iTunes but its ok i found a solution i deleted 1 app from these the Facebook lets say and i download it and install it again from the phone this time and it worked and also the rest of the apps worked to without do the same with them i don’t know if it was some kind of lag or anything but thanx for you’re answer!
does anyone know if there is any good way to install siri to iPhone 4? i check the YouTube i found some ways but they were saying that it works only for a short time of period and others the other thing that I’m afraid it also is that it sends you’re personal data to a proxy isn’t that a little risky???
I actually did just that a few days ago, and it works perfectly. I just have about 70MB less RAM than I normally do in most situations but of you’re ok with that then cool.
SiriPort is the way to go. You can look up the instructions for it and the cydia repo source. Remember, of Siri gives you error messages, keep clicking the Siri button. Over and over. You don’t have to say anything. Mike on, mike off. Mike on, mike off. Siri will keep telling you ‘can’t help’ and all this crap but push on and eventually Siri will listen to you. Persistence is key. I kept clicking the Siri button every second for ten minutes and it activated for me. Its then activated forever* so yeah. Good luck.

@george I can’t judge if it’s alright or not – you have to decide. I don’t really care about using Siri through a proxy so I use it but if you do then maybe you should turn it down. It’s the most stable proxy out there, and every Siri command has worked after activation about a week ago. So you be the judge.
When I said ‘if you’re ok with that then cool’ because I found that with the SiriPort installed, I have 70MB less free RAM for apps. Sorry, if you don’t understand what RAM is, I can’t take my time and explain it. Just google it. So busy these days
