Hi, Just bought my boyfriend an iPhone 4 for his birthday. The guy I got it off is from the US, he said that he had unlocked and jailbroken it. When we put a micro-sim in it said that it couldn’t read the sim and that it couldn’t connect to a network. Last night my boyfriend tried to reset the settings thinking that he may need to unlock it from AT&T but now its frozen with an Apple logo mixed with a pirate face. Can anyone help ? Please ?
We are trying to use an iPhone 4 version 4.2.1. We bought from a person who used it in the US. We are in New Zealand. When we put the sim card in it said it couldn’t connect to a network. After trying to reset it its frozen with an apple logo with a pirate mixed into it. How can we unfreeze and make it connect to a New Zealand network. The guy we bought it of said that he had jailbroken and unlocked it but had recently used an US sim card in it before sending it over. Thanks !

If you are on iOS 4.2.1 firmware , wait for Ultrasnow 1.3 Carrier unlock. To get the unlock updates via email , Subscribe to our posts .
