I’ve had my iPhone 4 jailbroken on 4.33 for a while with no problems at all. I was running a nice theme too with Winterboard. However, after I’ve updated to 5.0.1 and done the jailbreak, it’s behaving strangely at times :
- Screen starts flickering and then phone dies . This has happened twice within 5 days – and it happened with two different Winterboard themes
- Icons are suddenly unresponsive . Although you can see that it registers that I push the icon, nothing happens. A respring fixes this, but still
- Notification sounds are strange . Sounds like it tries to do the notification time lots of times.

I was having similar problems but my iphone 4 on 5.0.1 seems to be running fine after I restored then jailbroke again

The last problem of notification sound being repeated several times is a problem starting iOS 5 , even on non-jailbroken phones
i also have a problem with ios 5.0.1 jailbreak. i wasnot always able to put apps in folders and if i did the iphone went into safe mode. the same happened when i triedto istall twiks from cydia.. can you please hep me?
since i jailbreaked my iphone with redsn0w’s ios 5.0.1 jail break i am having problems with my iphone. sometimes i cant put apps in folders or even create a folder and when idoit crashes and goes into safe mode. the same sometimes happens when i try to install things from cydia.
I am also having “n” problems with IOS 1.5 Jailbreak. Today the phone when trying to pair with the bluetooth car was restarting all the time. The solution was beautiful “reset”. It seems to me that the whole problem started after installing the themes Winterboard.
T27- I had the same issue, bu didn’t really realize it until now. My 16 gb 3GS arrived from eBay unlocked already but at 4.1. And bb 6.15.00. Gps was fine. Serial 87941xxxx. So I know it’s at the cusp of old boot rom and fixed bootrom. Not too familiar with jail breaking but read everything I possibly could to do mine right being that it had an unlock already I didn’t want to mess it up. To be honest, I don’t know what I did. I did almost everything in the book, custom 5.0.1 firmware via pwnage tool, and via latest red snow. Didn’t quite know how to use tiny umbrella but stumbled through I think the wrong sequence of steps there. I do have shsh files for 4.1, 4.3 and 5.0.1 and 5.1.1 full blobs for those and tried stitching them. I am too over analytical about it and throw the kitchen at it when it need a wrench. But I can say the more I customize the phone, added mywi, started the cascade. Then as i was putting apps back into folders, the less and less my data network was working. Cydia can barely get an edge network connection. I emailed seller and asked how phone was unlocked first. She didn’t know but knew it was an AT&T phone. I siont really care about he unlock right now; I can leave AT&T later. . I just want it to work now. As at least a jailbroken 5.0.1
Have never done a restore from apple, but have restored via custom firmware 5.0.1. Tried so many things can’t rember what I did the last time.
Can I just give up the unlock and restore stock and rejsilbreak even though I am at 6.15.00 bb? Or will that brick me?
I also came from a very stable 4.3.3, to 5.01, I notice that icons, mostly folders become unresponsive, even when using “compatible” ios5 themes, and apps. Often a restoring has no effect either. On the plus side to the twitchines of 5.01 is the obvious increase in battery life(even with processor speed limiting plist deleted) and the and the splendid use of the available ram(it seems to run everything with less resources) . I deffinately miss 4.3.3 but until I’m forced to restore ill stick it out. Thank god for ash blobs saves thru Cydia! 5.01 has some excelent features built in- ie: led flash alert, custom vibrations and contact vibration settings, Safarii is the best and fastest yet! Sbs settings has also received a functional facelift. Saddly the arguably best jb app ever – BiteSMS is in serious news of an update. 6.01 has a terrible quick reply and compose window, it seems to have the hardest time figuring out with orientation to orient to! It’s IMessage support is shaky at times, and sending pictures is a nightmare! Also the SMS scheduling is a fail. Add all these issues to a glitchy keyboard (quick tweet+sms) and 5.01 is almost too much hastle for its worth. Hopefully as we test further, a more stable jb or exploit will be implemented, and apps with mostlikely recieve updates for these issues. All I’m all, I still covet my iphone4 with all the love in my heart. Have a good year iOS jailbreakers, T.j out.
I actually forgot one of my biggest cwams with ios 5.01 and BiteSMS- the inability to download, create or store ringtones on the phone, not to mention the loss of contact txttone settings. Of course you can use Anyringtone, but that program doesn’t seem to work well with ios5.01. If more than one SMS comes through, both ringtones try to play together., and will not end until the ringtone has run its course., Not even when you akmowladge the txt

Winterboard appears to have a compatibility problem with iOS 5.0.1.
Uninstall it, reboot and you are good to go.
Wait till Saurik comes up with a new version of Winterboard.
After smooth jailbreak using the 1st red snow available. Phone works awesome except that the springboard crashes when I do an App Store app upgrade. Some apps try to update while in safe mode buts its really slow. I have no idea what is wrong and what to do. I have googled this issue a couple dozen times using different search terms and I have browsed every forum possible and am stuck. I have 40+ apps that need updating. Help.
