I bought my unlocked iPhone 4 last year in America. I live in China now and was using my iPhone 4 with a China Mobile SIM for about 6 months. I recently tried updating to iOS 5.0 and now I have the message “No SIM Card Installed: Insert a valid SIM card with no PIN lock to activate phone.”
My problem is that I’m stuck on the configuration screen (with all the various languages scrolling by saying “Welcome”) and I cannot even get into my phone. If I click ‘next’, it takes me to “select my country or region”, then “Location Services,” then “WiFi networks”. But I cannot go any further and I’m stuck. So I’m locked out of my iPhone 4 and I don’t have another SIM (I think its AT&T iPhone 4).
So my questions are :
1. Is there a way to at least get ‘into’ my iPhone? (So I can take it to the shop and have them unlock it.)
2. Do I have to get an AT&T SIM? or is there a workaround or an easier way than trying to find a friend with an AT&T SIM and have him send it to me.
Any help would be much appreciated ! Thanks!
