Hi,
I tried to jailbreak my new device several times , but i keep receiving an error . Jailbreakme does not work on my iPhone 4 . It has the iPhone 4.0.1 OS version . But it ends up saying the following message :
“ Version too new. You need to downgrade to 4.0.1/3.2.1 or earlier “( which may be impossible, explanation) before you can use this site.

well go to settings on your iphone then , general, about ,and under version it should say 4.01 …i believe i read that u said new device? i believe new devices came preinstalled with version 4.02 also u might be confused with 4.1 that was just released. if so then no worries jailbreak for those version are awaiting a jailbreak today so sit tight and wait for the jb

I was hoping to jailbreak my new Iphone4 but unfortunately I downloaded OS version 4.1. I get a message that the version is too new. When can we expect to have a new version of jailbreaker that will “break” 4.1?

thats right , you are on iOS 4.o.2 or 4.1 , its new , apple has patched the firmware ur having , you have to wait for the greenpoision jailbreak , its coming in days , just keep an eye on this blog , we will put the tutorial as soon as its out

Having the same problem Version is too new ( i got the 4.1/8B117) Can i use some other program like Greenpoison or Limera1n to do it or my version is too new for those too ?

The same thing happened to me! I have tried everything!!!!! Snowbreeze, limera1n, jailbreakme, greenpois0n, spirit, redsnow but nothing is working and everything is stuffed now!!!! Luckily I can restore it otherwise I would have died!!!!!!!!!!
well the problem might be cauz of your contract phone.. if you are using under any service provider then i guess its not possible to install the app..
So Don’t update otherwise u gonna stuck with LOCKED iPhone.
