Subject: JailBreak Unlock AT&T iPhone 4 04.11.08 Officially

Question Posted by : Don

I used RedSnow to jailBreak my Iphone 4 , APN Changer to reset the APN to Smart Talk from Wal-Mart and Fake Carrier to show Smart Talk as my carrier. After a bumpy start everything is working great! I know that Smart Talk uses the AT&T network and I see no difference in before/after speed, etc.
My questions are :
1. Will AT&T still unlock my phone even though I am no longer on an AT&T account ?
2. Since I have baseband 04.11.08 I can’t otherwise unlock my phone. What would be the advantage in my situation ?
3. Should I upgrade to iOS 5.1, saving my current baseband ?
4. If I UG, will I need to Re-jailbreak ?
TIA and warm regards, Don.
Answer :
Read How to Unlock iPhone 4 through AT&T Officially . You can pay termination fees to the carrier and they will permanently unlock your iPhone 4 .
Unjailbreaking iPhone 4 5.0.1 and Reversing iPhone 4 Unlock

Since jailbreaking my supposedly factory unlocked iPhone 4 firmware 04.11.08 I’ve discovered that it is not properly unlocked and my 3 sim card doesn’t work as such I have to return it to be swapped with a properly unlocked iphone, in order to do so I need to get rid of the jailbreak. I understand the way to do this is to save the shsh for 5.0.1 using tinyumbrella and then to restore to this by pressing shift restore to it or something along those lines.
I have full access to the iphone it is not stuck in recovery mode or anything however when I scan for shsh’s using tiny umbrella it finds none and on my cydia it says ‘this device is pending on the TSS queue’ can anyone enlighten me as to how I can save the shsh’s (I’ve also tried using ishshit which says ‘the requested firmware is no longer available for signing’ (partly because I presume Cydia hasn’t save it yet may be ?)
Anyway can anyone enlighten me on how to restore to 5.0.1 without upgrading to 5.1 or anything and on how to save shsh’s when cydia hasn’t done it. Any help is much appreciated. Freddie
Answer :
