Q. | Jailbreak iPhone 4 – Unlocked by the Carrier |

Question Posted by : Dennis
Hi there , I have an iphone 4 and decided to jailbreak. Before doing so I read about this subject (quite a lot) and now I do not exactly know what to do, as I havent found any posts with similar issue. I have an iPhone4 4.2.1 with latest 03.10.01 baseband. The phone was recently unlocked by my carrier. I read that phones with this baseband can not be unlocked yet with jailbreaking tools , and that jailbreak might (?) turn it locked again.
My question is :
- If I jailbreak my phone will it remain unlocked ?
- Is it the baseband or the SHSH which keeps it unlocked ?
- If I jailbreak and later upgrade (for 4.3) what will happen then , will it remain unlocked or not ?
Thanks a lot for any answers . Dennis
Answer :
Factory unlocked phones are free for life . If after jailbreaking your phone denies accepting any network and you can’t make any calls , just restore your device and remove the jailbreak . You phone will be good as new . The baseband keeps your phone unlocked , but that applies only to factory locked phone . For more frequently asked questions , goto our FAQ Section.
