Ipod Touch 4 Backlight Not Working

I recently replaced the cracked LCD on my 4th gen ipod touch with a new screen. After turning it on, the backlight did not come on. The ipod still responds, is still functional and the home screen can be seen under direct light. I have tried restoring, restarting, resetting all settings, changing the brightness settings, and I am no longer under warranty with Apple so taking it in is not an option. I am familiar with the inside of the ipod but am unsure as to what needs to be done to fix this. If you have any suggestions I would highly appreciate it as I would like to be able to fix it myself.
