Question Posted by : DY
Hey All ,
I have iphone 4 currently on ios 4.1 and new 2.10.04 baseband. I’m a T-mobile customer and planning to jailbreak soon, then unlock in nov when that becomes available.
My question is, how can I assure I will always be able to restore my phone to the jailbreakable | unlockable ios 4.1 once the new iOS 4.2 comes out. If my phone were to freeze or lock up and I’d have to restore, what do I need to do to be able to restore to 4.1 rather than 4.2 through Apple.
As I understand, would need to have my SHSH files saved while Apple is still signing ios 4.1. Which I have done using TinyUmbrella. My question is, do I have to be jailbroken and using Cydia to do this, or if I have them saved locally on my PC is that enough to make sure I can restore to 4.1 in the future.
Very new to iphone 4 and jailbreaking, please let me know. As I understand 4.2 should be coming in Nov, just want to know what I need to do NOW to ensure I don’t get stuck having to restore through Apple in the future.
Thanks !
