I have a iphone 4 4.1 firmware that i took to a guy that said he could unlock. He was unsuccessful and now the screen is stuck in recovery mode. When i plug it into itunes it ask me to restore it and update to iOS 4.2. Please advise me , I am guessing iOS 4.2 would be a terrible choice . It won’t allow me just to restore. Should i just leave it alone until the iOS 4.1 jailbreak is available or do i have no choice but to upgrade to 4.2 ?
Seems like you are on iOS 4.1 factory locked . You have two options here . Use Recboot or TinyUmbrella to come out of recovery . Second option is to upgrade to iOS 4.2 using the Upgrade to iOS 4.2 Preserving Baseband Tutorial. The first two options are to get your iphone 4 out of recovery and working . Since the unlock for iOS 4.2.1 02.10.04 is not released yet , you can stay away from the upgrade .
