I recently bought an iphone 4, unaware that it was blocked (well im assuming it is). I didn’t realise that there wasnt a SIM inside until I was home. I wanted to remove my friends photos/music that he had left on there (and the person before him’s photos etc). Anyway, I cleared all the settings and media etc using the factory default settings function and now I’m locked out of my phone. I’ve tried to cut spare SIM cards to make a microsim but wasnt having any luck, i think the imei number is blocked ? is there anything I can do ? as the iPhone was working fine without a SIM before I reset it.
Answer :
First of all if your phone is declared stolen with a network and later found then provided YOU made the call to have it IMEI barred then the network will provide you with a password in relation to the incident and if you find the phone then call them up and give them the password to unbar it. Problem solved.
If your phone is reported stolen it means it is IMEI blocked by the network operators . It is a criminal offence to sell , buy and use stolen phones . Kindly return it to your nearest police station .
