I have a iphone 4 firmware 04.10.01 with software version 4.3.3(8j2) that is registered with att in california… i am working in Canada and was given a phone (Blackberry Curve) from the company I work for. Their phone is on the Canadian carrier Fido . I went to the Fido store and was told that i they could change my sim card from a regular size card to a micro card… but that i needed to go to another store and buy a “turbo chip” to hold the micro card.
I have found the turbo chip [Gevey Sim] for around $50 but another cell store told me that they are having problems with the “turbo chip” and that the phone losses reception and needs to be reset a lot? does anyone know anything about this ? I plan on using the iPhone while in Canada and then putting my old us att sim card back in when i go back to the states… is this possible? any potential problems? the iPhone is out of warranty.
