Subject: Cydia – “Unable to Load” error on iPad 1st generation
Question Posted by : Rage
Country :
Device Name : iPad

I’ve just jailbroken my iPad 1st generation using greenpois0n rc6.1. I am new to jailbreaking but I used the online tutorials to get the job done . My iPad is running iOS 4.2.1 and followed the tutorial exactly. I’m not sure if it matters but this appeared on the screen during the jailbreak process .
“Unable to find gBdevList
Unable to find fs_mount
Unable to find fs_unmount
Unable to find fs_load _file
Greenpois0n initialized”
However, the loader was installed fine and Cydia was installed from the loader.
After opening Cydia, it notified me that version of Cydia was no longer supported and I needed to upgrade, soon after a pop-up appeared to upgrade, which I allowed the upgrade. Now when I open Cydia, an error fills the screen :
“Unable to Load
(The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “cydia.saurik.com” which could put your confidential information at risk.)”
Was the update I allowed a fake update, has this happened to others before? I have Googled this problem and have come up empty-handed. What can I do to fix this ?
Will this be fixed by installing a clean working version of Cydia and how do I do that ? Or does this mean it is not properly jailbroken and I need to try jailbreaking again ? Do I need to use Redsn0w ? I read about jailbreaking with tethered redsn0w and making it untethered with greenpois0n, but the link to the tutorial is broken, can anyone help me with this ?
Answer :
Go to Settings > General > Date & Time > Set the Right Time & Date and try again. Also try joining a different wi-fi hotspot and launch Cydia this time . You can always rejailbreak your iPad and fix the problem. Please follow the iPad Jailbreak tutorial in the blog and use the correct jailbreak tool supported on your firmware .
