I bought an iPhone 4 in US and wanted to use the same in India. I did follow the instructions on internet to jailbreak and unlock my phone. I am able to use the phone with Airtel and I activated data plan. But whenever I try to access internet I am getting message – “Could not Activate Cellular data network“.
Does using custom APN solve the problem ? How to create profile using custom APN ? Please help.

Step : 1 Connect your Apple iPhone to a wifi or wireless network which can give your device some wireless Internet access.
Step 2. From your device launch Safari , open the website : unlockit.co.nz and click on Continue
Step 3. Now click on Custom APN
Step 4. Type the APN settings for your carrier, and then click on create profile.
Step 5. Save the profile and reboot your deice . Your phone should now be working with the GPRS settings.
