I recently won an Ebay auction for an iPhone 3G. The seller said it was locked into O2 which is correct but, whether he did it before or after the sale, the IMEI is blocked. I went online and paid for one of those IMEI checkers and it’s confirmed as being reported lost or stolen. I sent the seller 2 messages but no reply.
And now he’s closed his account. Is there any way I can unblock the IMEI or am I going to have to sell it to someone overseas ?
Answer :
If your phone is reported stolen it means it is IMEI blocked by the network operators . It is a criminal offence to sell , buy and use stolen phones . Kindly return it to your nearest police station or contact the owner of the device .
