Subject: After jailbreak Iphone 4s iOS 5.0.1 with Absinthe GPS problem

As described in problem summary, after jailbreaking iPhone 4S using Absinthe the location service doesn’t work. It is impossible to use GPS with maps and any other application (error message: cannot determine position). How to solve the GPS problem with Absinthe jailbreak apps ? Is there any update on Absinthe by Chronic Dev Team.

    guys just download the latest version of itunes
    no restore needed
    run like vista administrator

    Yes, I have the same problem here, you need internet to make it work not like iPhone 4 running IOS 4.3.3 and this problem from the IOS not the iPhone so we must to update the system then wait for jailbreak, Damnnnn

    My iphone 4s gps was running perfectly untill i did the jailbreak and the problem started

    My ipad 2 is spared from this problem

    Any solution?

    Problem solved. Turn gps on, always. Restore to original system, then use gps, then absinthe. Never turn gps off during the whole process. For me worked!!!!

    Great, can you explain the steps more in details
    Do you use google maps or navigation app for gps after restore (before absonthe)?

    If you have a jailbreak 4s with gps not working do this step:

    1) turn gps OFF and restore with iTunes to original 5.0.1
    2) reboot your iPhone 4s
    3) turn gps on. In an original. not jailbreak iPhone, now it works. Try it with google maps, google earth
    4) reboot your 4s
    5) wait until another time gps is working. Try with google maps.
    6) now APPLY Absinthe (forget about gps)
    7) after the whole process reboot again your device 8) you’ve a jailbreak iphone now. Open again google maps… and… it worked for me.

    During the whole absinthe process don’t move your iPhone. I think that if it lost gps signal after jailbreak don’t acquire it again…

    Sorry for my bad english…

      my GPS work outside but it want a few seconds to acquire sat. but indoor it can’t acquire sat at all, it need internet to work, so is your solution about that or another thing??

      I followed your way with no success, gps comes and goes, stops most of the time during tracking by google maps or navigation app

      The problem is there is no actual continuous gps fixtion and tracking

      Although, the problem is there after i restored and before jailbreaking

      Any suggestions?
