Apple has released iTunes 10.1 version for both Windows and Mac before the release of iOS 4.2 firmware . The new iTunes seems to be safe for jailbreakers . You must see an automatic pop up box asking to upgrade your existing iTunes version . Please note that you need iTunes 10.1 to upgrade to iOS 4.2.
