Apple have released the new iOS 6.0.1. This is not a huge update like the iOS 6, it does contains bug fixes including grey horizontal lines that appeared over the keyboard, a flaw with passbook that would allow information to be accessed from the lock screen and an issue with Exchange meetings, among others. Whilst this will not be a major update for many users it will have been highly anticipated by anyone who has been affected by these bugs.

There are three options to download the update :

Downloading the IPSW firmware files and updating using iTunes manually
Through iTunes Official Method
Over-the-Air using home WiFi

Method 1 ipsw :

Download the correct file for you device’s (links below)
Open iTunes and connect your device via USB
Whilst holding down Shift click on ‘Check for updates’ . For Mac users press and hold
Navigate to the IPSW file from the dialog box and select it
iTunes will now begin the upgrade to the iOS 6.0.1.

Method 2 iTunes :

Open iTunes and connect your device via USB
Select you device when it appears in the left hand side menu
Choose “Check for Updates” or navigate to Help > Check for Updates
iTunes will download and install the update for you

Method 3 Over-the-Air:

First of all ensure your device is connected to WiFi
On the home screen navigate to Settings > General > Software Update
The iPhone will search for the update, this might take a few seconds
When the download appears select it and the device will automatically download and install the software and initiate a restart
