Download iOS 5 using iTunes :

To download the iOS 5 firmware on iTunes , launch iTunes application on your Windows or Mac and connect your device using the USB cable. After your device is detected y iTunes , go to Help tab on the top and select “Check for Updates” as shown in the image below .

        Hi I really need an urgent help on this. I am from India and was using this Apple iphone 4(factory locked)thru gevey turbo sim which i got it from America . Last night i upgraded it to ios5. But now its not working. PLS pLS help somebody..!!
        have the original AT&T sim, but that will do? And how?? Please help, m stuckkkk;(;(
        I dint preserve my baseband. Now wat can I do? Pls help..!!

        To actually made a bug mistake. Gevey dosnt support iOS 5 and also there isnt any other unlock available.
        The only way you can start usung your phone is by factory unlock which will coat you around 8-10,000 rupees.

    So, I currently have IOS 4.3.3 installed and am about to install the new IOS. How do I jailbreak the new IOS5 if my phone isn’t jailbroken yet?
    Another question is whether or not an untethered jailbreak is available yet.

      no untether now…mayb after 2-3 weeks..
      Also , if u dont depend on any unlock , u can just upgrade to iOS 5 without JB.

      its combined with the messages app. if your texting someone who has an iphone, ipad, ipod it will automatically switch to imsging. you can also deactivate imsg by going to the settings app, click on messages and turn off imsg.

    i tried to upgrade my iphone by downloading iphone 4 GSM. When i upgrade it manually, it comes out an error with the code 3002.
    y does this happen?
    and wat is the difference btw iphone 4 GSM and iphone 4 CDMA??

    I have an iphone 4 which had version 4.3.3 bb 04.10 and the Gevey Sim worked just fine.
    I doon’t know what I did but I downloaded iphone3.1_5.0_9A334_Restore from some site and restored it to the 5.0 version and it went to BB 04.11.08
    Now the Gevey Sim does not work anymore.
    Any Suggestions or solutions for me to go back?
    Will appreciate all the help and/or suggestions.

    Ok, I’m trying to jailbreak my iphone 4 cdma ios 5.0.1, I already downloaded redsnow 0.9.9b8 and 5.0.1 ipsw for both gsm and cdma, when I manually select the ipsw and use the one for cdma it says that ipsw is not supported by that version of redsnow, then i tried using the ipsw for gsm named iPhone3,1_5.0_9A334_Restore and it starts the process but then stucks on waiting for reboot screen and nothing would fix it I’ve tried every trick found on the web but nothing works, PLEASE HELP!!!!!

    go back to redsnow select extras selectIPSW look for firmware 5.0 and select just boot fallow instructions reboot u have to do same hing
